His perspective is that him and and his black friends were mistreated as teens. His perspective is that it was only that way because he/they are black. He guaranteed it would not be the same if his skin color was different.
So the account of American history that he wrote about is only his biased view. He could have brought up numerous nation wide scandals/events to prove his point. Only using his experiences makes it personal and biased. One could also argue it’s an emotional viewpoint due to his closeness to the situation.
His guarantee can not be proven. Thus making that part of his perspective irrational.

Yep that's exactly what's happened, he turned an issue of theft into a race issue enabled by those now arguing about race. Oh and you can be certain who ever was behind the camera would have been laughing along with it and saying the same things that Jett was saying only there was no one recording them.
I get it, and agree to a point. But the bleeped out word he used is used often in songs . I sponsored a kid ( 17 year old local Pro at the time) that would use that word to describe a close friend. I had to explain to him that a lot of people would take it differently and that he shouldn't be using it so much. Some kids hear it in songs and just don't have the hate associated with the word. That is why I find it hard to judge him just based off the word alone.
I myself would never use those words in rage no matter how mad I was at somebody. I honestly do not feel right thinking the word. But I could understand a kid not realizing the gravity of using them and just placing them alongside the other naughty words.
For me, I try and take what the person's intent is along with what they are saying and doing. A perceived insult, is not an insult if the person intended it to be a compliment. And a word along that is not directed towards any body. Not even in a very general way is hard for me to judge somebody off of. Especially a young kid. If the video was from a year ago, that may have some more impact and I would be more on the side of WTF is he thinking. If Mirtl could only dig up those few seconds of stand alone words, it shows me more about Mirtl than Jett.
Lets say , perhaps that Jett and the Lawrences are dealing with some sort of extortion or blackmail from Mirtl and his Lawyers told him not to respond. I know it's kind of a stretch. But it's also not very far from possible.
I do hope that he helps add context to it and apologizes .

The part where he implies racism only goes one direction would be a start. Racism is everywhere and goes all directions.
Also, maybe the fact that his posts towards not only me but others, have more racial undertones than you or him are willing to acknowledge. His rant about 99% of the board is enough proof of his own racism.
The history of racism in this country is not okay, nor should it ever have been. However, treating every white person like they are racist due to the actions of others from years and years in the past, is not acceptable, either. In my opinion.

Sounds familiar, but that's been a while.
I can tell you from personal experience running into Craig at races that he doesn't treat every white person like he or she is racist. And there doesn't seem to be anything in what he said denying that racism infects all ethic and racial groups. It's a faultline across history long before the US was born and played its own history out.
It's fair for him to resist people who dismiss or discount black Americans' experience and lay it on him having a "skewed" perspective. A jew in NAZI Germany had a skewed perspective, but that didn't make that perspective inaccurate. History is the sum total of different groups' "skewed" perspectives.
I see many people disliking Jett in threads . I really thought that there would be much more uproar here.
Haiden and Jett both seem to have a large proportion of love or hate. Me personally I don't care who it was, if the situation is the same. A former employee that was fired for steeling , posts a video of one of his former boss's saying 2 words . What if its not even real and that's why we have not heard from Jett? Mirtl has already tried to buy ML's backing. Just about anybody who could edit a video together like Mirtl did could fake those clips. Cooksey has jumped the gun more than a time or 2 without doing much to confirm something from more than a single source.
My parents were pretty relaxed as far as what we could say. But if a video came out like that of me , they wouldn't need context . They would be very disappointed unless I provided a good reason for them not to be. I can understand the feelings of wanting Jett to say something. But if its never Ok, its still not going to be OK if he apologizes or provides context. If its ok if he issues an apology , how can context NOT matter. That apology would add context to the video.
