Thoughts?
Beta looks intriguing and available, unlike the Kawaski Unicorn

I rode my friend's '23 300RX.
It handled better than my YZ250. I noticed the Beta had a flatter seat and lower tank, felt similar to most current bikes.
The 300RX power was similar to the YZ but much smoother; felt like linear 4 stroke power (but no engine braking) as where the YZ has more hit and likes to be ridden in the mid range (even with a flywheel weight and +1 on the rear).
My friend raced it for a year with no problems to speak of.
I've also ridden at 300RR,for the "same" bike it was a totally different bike. It felt very enduro-y, turns super tight and slow revving, only makes power if you ride it super hard. Would be great for technical offroad stuff but will be limiting on a track, don't try to jump it because the suspension will soak it up and you won't leave the ground 🤣
I have been looking hard at the 2025 300 RX, too.. such a beautiful bike. The only thing that was a bit of a negative for me was the wide-ish fuel tank when sitting down, but I have been told that you dont notice it so much when you ride it. I have only sat on the bike and have yet to actually ride one, but have followed all the reviews. Always very positive reviews on the cornering, handling, suspension and power. If the Kawasaki 2T doesn't come through this year, it would be either the Beta 300 RX or a new YZ250.
I talked to the Beta motocross team manager as a recent supercross and he showed me all they ways you can tune the exhaust valve to change the power delivery. Next to the water pump is a hex key adjustment and there are 2 different springs in there that can be swapped out for different combinations of springs and hex key adjustments. I believe the hex key is probably a stopper for how far the exhaust valve opens and the springs must control how fast the valve opens (how much of a hit there is).
I also noticed that there are not many sources for Beta oem parts. the big bike distributors like Motosports and Rocky Mountain don't carry Beta oem parts. I always rely only getting my parts in a few days if I break something. The Beta website allows for easy ordering and I heard they ship quickly, but I just checked a few key parts like the replacement piston and they didn't have any in stock.
Beta 300’s are getting nicer. Lots off guys running the RX for off road also, BUT the 2025 RX is only a 5 speed. Osborne hopefully will make a great set-up for Beta.
Certainly not a deal breaker, but 2 washers under the front fender mount 😏
I’d like to see an RC-125 and RC-250 and compare these to the YZ125 and 250.

I just want to point out your kickstand is not carbon fiber.
Ok, now I'm slightly less jealous 😁
2 washers on each side for the front, or 1 each side?
I am asking because I over thought this and confused myself 😁
It’s such an ocd thing 😬
One on each side of the front mount (to bring the front of the fender down slightly).
It’s still an awesome looking bike.
That bike is just sik 😎👍
Thanks!! I should be able to sleep now 🤣🤣
I rode a 24 model at a dealer test day. I've had a few 250 2 strokes over the years and currently on a 21 yz450f. The beta handled pretty well despite the suspension being way too soft but the motor just felt slow. Smooth off the bottom and through the mid and then just went flat on top with no over rev. The motor on my yz250 was better. I did 2 laps and parked it. Depending on your current ride you may not like it.
I rode the 450RX on the same day and liked it way more
I just hope that the 78mm x 73.6mm for 351.7cc Beta '350' 2T is actually released.
It could be a wonderful thing.
Just picked mine up today coming off a 23 YZ 250. Will report back after break in. Bike is gorgeous and that Beta red orange pops in the sunlight!
I would immediately have one on order!!
Congrats!! Would love a ride report, I recently sold my YZ 250, and am debating between a new YZ, or the 300 RX. My biggest concern being whether or not the engine has that two stroke snappy character (like the YZ has) and if the handling is on par with the Yamaha. I think looks wise, it would be hard to pick one up, but that Beta is simply gorgeous.
Here's my '23, had it about a year. Coming off GG 450 but I am just a practice rider, only race vintage these days. I've had no issues with it. Super Dave, you're more than welcome to ride mine.....I'd love to see a good rider ripping on it and you my friend were flying at Freestone on the KX. Ronnie @ Big Country has plenty of parts. Also Beta has a cool program were you can order parts direct from Beta USA and local dealer gets credit for it....got mine in few days win-win for all.
I don't have one, but I see quite a few of them in the TORCS offroad series I race.
Some observations after looking into them a bit:
- Counter balanced engine (250 & 300)
- Carburetor
- KYB suspension
- Detailed owner AND service manuals free online
- Look great
Could probably set them up for MX since they do seem to be more off-road oriented out of the box. I would like to hit a ride day eventually and try out a 200 2-stroke.
Thx Rhett! -Hope you’ve been good.
Would love to take you up on this.
What days do you ride?
Dave, usually Sat or Sun on off weekends. I'll hit ya up next time heading to 3P
Also mine is the 6-spd vs the 5-spd on the 25's. The 25's have the smaller/slimmer tanks on them as well. I'll bring the stock seat to replace my Sasquatch one for you
Pit Row
Nathan Watson is racing that 350 2 stroke in Enduro GP this year. I didn’t know they were actually racing them.
Awesome! 300? How does it ride?
Wasn’t that a Beta 350 that Casey Stoner rode with Valentino Rossi?
Yea it was special one off dirt tracker build. The videos I watched of ecima in Italian the beta guys said multiple times. New rx250 and rx350 models coming. No mention of the rx300.
Lot of trouble to go through to build just a one off bike. For stoner to do a one time charity race with.
The spec board from EICMA last year.
It's a bit cut off to the LH side, but, perhaps the QR code can be read to get more info.
Just a small increase in stroke, but, besides it probably meaning no real / substantial change in 250/300 cases, they did it to retain a close to 250cc Bore Stroke ratio, instead of squaring it up.
I think if it works well, they would sell a (relatively, for a small company) Lot of them. I'm pretty sure it would still be able to run in the Enduro GP class 300s can run in - smv ryder confirming it with Nathan Watson riding it - and, well, even 300s are deemed too big and scary for 450s to 'deal' with in the 450 class at highest levels of MX...........😁
What a great looking scooter, Herb! I didn't know that CMT made carbon fiber tanks for the Beta. I see the tank extends lower on the bottom. It wouldn't happen to be narrower than the oem tank, would it?
Anyone hear any rumors for the 2026 300 RX?
That bike is sick.
Those are just carbon fiber tank cover made by CMT Italy. I have a set on the 500RRS and I wish they made them for the RX
After summer I’m planning on getting a new 2 stroke for mx. Very curious about the rx
2026 Beta 2-stroke’s might not change much. Maybe see a 125, 250, 300 and a new 350. Don’t see the 2026 RX300 changing much at all. Revalve suspension, some different tires, some thing that ads a little more horsepower, new bold graphics and higher retail price. Cool to see a Osborne edition.

I like that Beta offers more 2-strokes than 4s.
I wonder how hard it would be to turn an RR model into an RX model?
