With Supercross over and outdoors about to begin; I’m curious to see if anyone has any hot takes from the season or in general about our sport.
I’ll go first:
Ryan Dungey would be considered the GOAT if not for Ryan Villopoto. Of course impossible to say for sure I still think it’s a cool school of thought:
If Dungey won every championship that Villopoto did while they raced together, here’s what it would look like:
Actual Dungey Titles:
Supercross: 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017 = 4 titles
Motocross: 2010, 2012, 2015 = 3 titles
Total: 7
Add Villopoto’s Titles (assuming Dungey wins them instead):
Supercross: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
Motocross: 2011, 2013
Add: 6 more titles
Hypothetical Total:
Supercross: 8 titles
Motocross: 5 titles
Grand Total: 13 championships
With 13 titles, Dungey would’ve passed McGrath in total championships and only trailed Carmichael—while having way fewer injuries and a more consistent career.
not super spicy more like siracha but I’m curious what vital has to say and it goes without saying I’m a fan of both Ryan’s and was blessed to be a fan of the sport while they were both racing. True greatness.
I am a fan of all riders who bust their asses on the track, I will always cheer harder for certain teams/riders sure but all of them deserve a medal !
As for both Ryan's I have a ton of respect for both ! Both in my mind are GOATs

Supercross should be eliminated. It only exists because it can be held in metro areas but in today’s form it’s not true to the spirit of dirt bike racing and is to dangerous. Compare serious career altering injuries in SX vs MX. sure mx has some over the years but they are far more common in SX.

My spicy take, It will be a 4 rider battle in the 450 class. ET3, JL18, CS4 will all go 1-1 and dominate certain rounds but have a few bad motos, while AP7 will be consistently on or just off the podium all summer and with a little luck will be in contention for the title till the end.
HGH just allows for insanely fast recovery. It has long term side effects like enlarged organs but honestly if it was legal and used responsibly (medically) it would help these guys recover so much faster

Man....I've been waiting for JCoop to get to the front of the pack. He was really coming on there late in SX. Would be great to see him shine outdoors as well this year.

Ricky's 15 titles include 3 125/250 titles. So you have to add in the Ryan's 4 250 titles there fore the total would be 17 to 15. If we're counting that is.
