Didnt wanna jinx it so waited a week to make this thread. I know he got last so Im sure hes not pumped on that, but last week on the pod forkner said if he finishes this race this will be his first EVER full sx season that he has completed. I was never a forkner fan and couldnt stand the guy, but watching him come back from all those injuries I was rooting for him this year. I know this prob isnt the season he wanted to have, but the fact that he made it to and finished every single race after such a massive injury is a huge accomplishment and something for him to be proud of and build off going forward. Just wanted to say congrats on coming back from that massive injury and finishing an entire season thats a big deal.

I couldn’t agree more! Awesome to see him finish a season healthy
he got last tonight, hopefully it isn’t a Injury.
Would hurt so bad if he made it all this way and got hurt in the last few laps just like 2020. 💔
Good on him, but he needs to start hanging drywall
Does this race even count? He was 8 laps down.

It wasn't his first full season completed.
I feel like outdoors is going to be worse. Something’s different from when he was on pc/prior to brain surgery. Even if he wanted to complete the series, that speed isn’t there and he doesn’t look the same out there to me. Hopefully I’m an idiot and wrong.
Tell that to forkner then cuz he said it was last week on the pod.
He finished 3rd in 2020 and did all 9 races.
no, he crashed out early in the last race, ruptured his spleen and lost the championship. Hence why he says he never completed a season, bc he DNF-ed last race.
No injury that I know of tonight but he was 8 laps down. What qualifies as “finishing”?
The chain came off the bike in the whoops and just rolled to a stop! Was riding the best he has all season!!!
Well… that is unfortunate. I’m sure his mechanic is not stoked on that. Those guys work for peanuts and pour their hearts into their job. I hate seeing these kind of DNF’s.
Austin looks great on the bike, hopefully he can take his momentum into the outdoors
There was a small rock lodged in the chain guide pushing the chain out of alignment!! Not the mechanics fault in any way!!
Yeah, that was my angle. I feel bad when the DNF is something that absolutely couldn’t be prepared for. Shit happens ….
Good news is that Austin is still healthy and we got a whole new series to chase after. Hoping he can reset and ride to his potential !
Good to see that he's doing better, looked great in qualifying!
he was barking before the DNF. Right in the pack of Thrasher, Vohland, Marchbanks, Shock group. Probably would’ve been a top 10 on a E/W race…
Bummed that he just barely missed top ten in points. His rookie year in 2017, did he complete that season or no?
Pretty good for a guy who’s brain was on the table.
Pit Row
Really not that good!!!
Forkner raced all the races in 2020. Someone said he crashed and DNF, but he finished 21st out of 22. Last night he was 22nd and DNFed.
Love my downvotes though. Bunch of 🤡 🤡
He crashed himself out in 2020. Last night was a chain derailment with more than half the race completed. That’s why, in his mind, that he didn’t finish that season!! Can’t blame a bike failure like that on the rider. Just dumb luck!
He’s more talented than almost anyone in the world.
So a crash DNF and a mechanical DNF where in both cases he doesn't finish the race are this type of made up reality where in one case he finished the season, and in the other he didn't even though in the latter, he finished with a better score than the former?
it aint hard to understand lol. 😂
In 2020 he spent weeks in the hospital after fuckin up his spleen and pancreas.
In 2025 hes going home to sleep in his own bed with no broken bones 🤦♂️
he only gonna get better and more confident.
Unlike some, I have always been a fan of his. He's been through a lot, but he's on good equipment, and can crack the top 5 more than once this outdoors season with good starts, and a lot of heart. He still has that in him. I have him in my top 10 in the standings as well. Hope he stays healthy and shows us.
Geezus Christ you are hard-headed. It's quite simple, Austin feels like this is his first completed season due to him being able to complete all the laps without injury or crash, unlike 2020.
And he is going outdoors.....in 2020 that wasn't an option....
Awesome to finish the season healthy, but we all know Triumph has title expectations next season. Guess we'll see.
It's not much of relief the way he was crashing. I call it luck that he wasn't sidelined again.
It just turned out like that because he didn't get hurt when he crashed. Not because he was actually better in any way.
RJ, Smith, Forkner, Mcaddo ain't going to change unfortunately.
