So, I talked to Phil this weekend and I want to get him on the show, but try and do something a little different. He's on the Pulp show every week, so instead of a normal interview I thought listener questions would be cool. If you guys have good questions for Filthy, maybe we can do a bunch of those and a couple of stories he's never told. Lets see what you can come up with.
I have a question. Would he tell an audience to suck it?
What’s his best Mike Picone story?
If he got Coops championship bonus, what cool shit is he doing with the money? (and he’s not allowed to invest it)
What active pro rider or riders in the US love moto the most? Live it, breathe it, and are stoked.
Ask him if he loved or hated Waxhaw. Grew up there as a kid and would love to hear him shit on my home town, lol

Best two workouts for MX?
How fast were those Eleven10Mods Hondas when they held together?
Is there an opportunity with a team he passed up and regrets.
Would he of loved a chance to do MXGP, outdoors only, no deathcross, if he had a contract, equal in money to the US.
Who was the fastest rider out of this group of competitors when you raced local in the northeast. Sunny Drake, Mitch Dougherty, Paul Carpenter, or Bobby Kiniry?
How were the Motorsport Kawis in ‘08 with Bobby Hewitt?
Ask him if he knows what cyclocross is and if he'd ever do some races. He'd clean up bc it's pure aggression
No way bro same 😂
One thing you would’ve done differently if given the chance as an amateur and as a pro
Many questions come to mind. A) What is the most common mistakes you see teams make in their operations?
Who is the most supportive aftermarket or clothing company in the sport? C) What has motivated him to keep going for so many years? To keep coming back from injuries D) Three things Feld or MXSports can do to help the riders? E) How can privateers improve their income/results? F) How difficult is it to maintain a lifestyle with your income being so variable from year to year, have you taken off season jobs to supplement your income?
Do something different, make Phil the host!
What's your favourite meal? Best post race food?
What's your favourite beer? Mixed drink?
Go to guilty pleasure food?
I'm hungry.
Favorite Ghost Hounds song?
DarksideMX3: Off topic, but please organize a MotoXpod Episode with Jason Thomas and talk specifically about using / testing tubeless motocross tires. Un-sprung weight is very, very important and has changed cross country, enduro, and downhill mountain biking drastically. I have been fortunate enough to use some take-off "works" tires and they are amazing, among other things because they are so light, but still needed tubes.
Does he ever get a little pissed with all the ribbing from people and frankly from himself. The old "jump the jumps" thing is a punchline in itself and he's not looked at as a great rider. The reality is he could consistently make 450 mains and finish in the top 15 and top 10's outdoors so he's one of the baddest dudes on the planet when it comes to dirt bikes.
Pit Row
Was Moose paying him some decent money to run their gear when he was on JGR? He was one of not the only guy really running Moose in sx/mx.
Phoenix Honda is running moose now
Ask him what is the biggest difference with the Showa suspension on the kawasaki vs his KYB on the yamaha. And what is his go to workout in the gym, and if he only could do 1 workout of the bike what would it be? (outside of bicycle of course)
I'm shooting for having Phil on the show next Tuesday night (May 20th), so hit us with your questions.
How awesome does it feel to get to the first turn ahead of Jett, Hunter, Chase Eli & Coop? Any starting tips for us?
Can we please have a good Cooper Webb story? I loved the one about Phil and Coop out on Halloween where Phil had to save his sorry butt!
How many Jmarts would it take to beat 3 Coy Gibbs in a street fight?
Ask him about how "stretched" does the production rule get on a factory 450 race bike. 2) No 1 attribute all champions in MX/SX seem to have 3) Should minicycle racing/the amateur series be so important? 4) No 1 thing any rider can work on or do to improve his skill 5) In all your years racing was there ever a time you thought of giving up?
Who are some guys he battled as an amatuer that never made it as a pro?
Ask him how I can get in on the first annual Nicoletti challenge race at Sleepy Hollow.
I'll start training now.
Phil is in for tonight, so should be fun. Thanks for all the questions.
