The RC Hate

Go rewatch kids on the couch (terrafirma?) from 30 years ago.  Listen to him now.  Dude is just not an eloquent speaker.  He never has been.  That’s ok.  Was a great dirtbike racer.  We’ve all got strengths in life, but to make our weakness into a career isn’t usually the move.

Nobody is taking anything away from this racing career, clearly.
If he had a restaurant would you go there to eat shitty food just because he was good at riding a dirtbike?

I'll explain it to you. The guy who is the greatest motocrosser of all time is an authority on motocross. He's seen it all. He's done it all in the sport. He knows what it takes to win and his experience gives him deep knowledge of every aspect of the sport.

And yet NONE of that comes out on the broadcast. That's the thing you are refusing to acknowledge.

It's amazing the lack of reading comprehension and installation of thoughts into statements that is never intended on this forum. Nobody ever has said RC is not an accomplished racer, the greatest of all time. Likewise, nobody ever said they "hate" RC, hate or emotions of any kind have nothing to do with it. The point that the legion of people calling for RC's ouster from the broadcast is that he is woefully unskilled at the position. To put it into perspective if you like pizza and the only pizza shop in town hires somebody who has never cooked, it doesn't mean you hate pizza now or the new hire, it means the situation is amiss terribly. Or if you are a golfer and the new greenskeeper doesn't know how to use a mower. So many of these threads on Vital are turning into a "I can explain it to you, but I cannot understand it for you" scenario. The continuing narrative that RC should be acceptable as a public speaker because he was the greatest of all time at the subject he is speaking about holds no water, he cannot get his thoughts from his brain to the airwaves coherently. I swear some of his supporters would get in an airplane with him flying if he insisted he would "try his best"

Just out of curiosity, what was your goal with this post? Did you think it would stop people making fun of his announcing skills? Do you think the majority of people making fun of him on here are unaware of his racing accomplishments?

RC, you're barking up the wrong tree with your post here.

No one debates your status as a motocross and supercross racer, therefore, there is no 'revisionist history' as you say. People do want to listen to you, it's just that you are unable to get your thoughts from your brain to your mouth in a coherent fashion. I do have to disagree with your statement that you offer great insight every time you open your mouth. You usually offer nothing more than bland platitudes, ohhhs and ahhhs, and stock phrases well past their used by date. In regards to your question of how did this start? It started when you stated your commentary career and proceeded to butcher all known commentating standards along with the English language - a language of which you have little to no facility.

I'll debate dicky being the goat...

Supercross means vastly more to the sport than the nationalz, and superstupidcross means about the same as a win at MEC.. mc is far, far ahead of anyone else in sx.... dicky is the goat of the second most important form of this sport, outdoors...

Mc isn't just the king, but he's the goat too... did farrrr more for this sport than dicky, stew, dunge, rv, etc combined... chit, mc was also affable and well liked by the masses... dicky was never loved by the fans... and now days, the fans straight up hate him...

I know the marketing machines want u to think dicky the man as all they wanna do is shove that lil marble mouthed troll down our throats.... but irl, there can be just one greatest, and that's mc...

IDK we're usually drinking beers and grilling while the sx races are on. Most of the people I watch the races with are x motocrossers, so we're not the casual onlookers. I get more put off by the peacock coverage, than any of the grammar mistakes by the announcers.  RC may not articulate as well as some would like, but the point gets made, and the race goes on.

MC has two more sx titles than RC. RC has NINE more mx titles than MC. So yeah RC is the greatest all around rider of all time, by a mile. He also retired much younger because he was bored of dominating.

So your statement that myself, or anyone else on this site doesn't get to determine who is a true fan...

...is that some universal truth or just your opinion?

His racing accomplishments have nothing to do with what he is doing in broadcasting. Bringing up his success as a racer is such a lame argument when people are talking about his broadcasting skills which he just doesn’t have. It’s not easy, but there has been little to no improvement during his tenure. He is getting criticized more recently because of what happened with Daniel Blair, but that is beside the point. There are better candidates for his position. That is not being a hater, it is objective criticism.

What are your credentials, since you seem to be into that sort of thing.
