Cod… worst fish in the water. Love a good steelhead though. Also any potato in a cheese sauce (scalloped au gratin etc)

Brussel Fuggin' Sprouts! = Disgusting things.

Liver / Kidney - errrg.

I get up, have my main meal for the day, whatever that may be, but, usually ( well, too bloody often according to my 'dietitian' ) some Pasta - everything else is just grazing - Fruit or Vegies, like whole Cucumbers -  unless there's an arranged thing in the evening  with She Who Must Be Obeyed.   I always have some Mini Tomato's - Cherry or Romas, while I'm waiting on the cooking in the morning. Sometime in the last few years, I've come full circle, and like Broccoli / Broccolini, those used to be level with my hate of Brussel Fuggin' Sprouts - I have some sort of Broccoli, a during  the said  Wait. Then, Baby Carrots etc. None of the Vegies - well, Fruit in the case of the Tomato's -  are cooked. I don't like cooked Vegies. I'll happy chomp on raw beans etc. Buggered if I know why. Cook 'em, and I hate 'em. Yes, I'm a bloody weirdo.

I have Mandarins always in the Workshop - better packaged Oranges, as I call them.

Use to Love Bananas, but I've gone right off them - they seem to have become bland, mushy things that go 'Off' in a bloody instant - Part of the near dominance of but a couple of suppliers, it's said.

I quite like Fish, Love Prawns and Squid. I try to have at least one pescatarian meal a week, and  Chook, as well. I have one small Pizza a week, during Race Watching season - I plonk myself down in the recliner in the Workshop, and watch MX / SX / Bike Racing in General. Sometimes, with some nice Bourbon - and that's about the sum total of my alcohol intake.

Something I've never been able to do, since I was a Kid , is eat the chunks / slivers of Fat on various Meat Cuts. I find it utterly disgusting - all the while knowing the amount of fat that is even in lean meat etc.

The Shop

Seafood - I'm allergic to fish, so that doesn't help. On the other hand, I'm not allergic to shellfish, but the smell alone is brutal to me.

Here is my "Once and Done.":

I was invited to a Filipino wedding, and there was a MASSIVE buffet. I was able to identify 50% of the options, and had a huge plate of delicious food. My girlfriend's brother and cousins offered to show me some things they thought I should try. One of those things was some dark, stringy meat that I didn't like at all.

If you ever go to a rural wedding (anywhere, any country), and a group of people you don't know well have you "try" some kind of food and everyone stops what they are doing to watch you put it in your mouth, chances are good that you just ate something nasty.

I will never eat dog meat again.

Bangladeshi Curry.  When you're farm raised you're gonna get shit in yer mouth...cow shit horse shit, chicken shit...it's just part of it.  The British bil took us to his favorite restaurant...a Bangladeshi place.

The smell was familiar...a restaurant dumpster around noon on the 4th of July...past ripe.  I took one bite of what I thought was chicken (hard to distinguish anything through the oily gloppy sauce).  I barely made it to the restroom before projectile vomiting.  From the state of the place I wasn't the first person to have this reaction to their "food".

I would rather eat animal poop by the bucket than another teaspoon of that filth.🙃

A western carolina staple, liver mush.

Kind of like sausage except a ton of corn meal and spices.

I cant even stand to smell it cooking....and they have festivals for it.

Also, oysters and catfish.

Just something about eating something that survives on fish shit turns my stomach.

This might be wild, but tomatoes.

Salsa, ketchup, whatever im fine with, but an undoctored tomatoe will make me throw up

Word for word i could have written your post. I was a picky eater when i was kid but now the only thing that is still a hard no is fresh tomatoes.

Corn. When i was a little boy I had the flu. I wasn't hungry and bypassed dinner laying on the living room floor while the rest of the family ate, dinner including cooked corn. The smell, it was terrible and ever since corn grosses me out.

Was working in New Orleans eons ago and went out for brews and oysters on the half shell, not bad if drowned in hot sauce. Got back to my efficiency apartment and the trouble started, was projectile shitting in the toilet and projectile vomiting in the tub at the same fuckin time. Prayed to the lord, just take me bro, just make it stop.

Yeah, haven't had the guts to try oysters again.

I've spent my entire life on the NC/SC border and hand on the bible here - I'd rather eat a piece of fried livermush than steak. I'm not much of a picky eater - smelly cheese, weird looking mushrooms, chicken livers and turkey gizzards, brussel sprouts, spicy peppers, and just about any canned fish ALL sound like a good time to me. I dont care for cauliflower, but the only thing I wont touch is mayonnaise or anything with mayo in it. The smell even makes me nauseous.

I'm with the liver folk, ugh.  When I was a kid, I never liked tomatoes, but would eat salsa, tomato soup, ketchup, and cooked tomatoes.  As I have gotten older, I love home grown tomatoes ripe from the vine with some salt and pepper.  Still despise store bought.  The only thing I have tried and will not ever try again is durian.  Smells sooo bad that I can't get past it.  My Cambodian friend that got me to try durian, says that he hates cheese (all cheese), says it's the texture.

If you are like me and did not know what durian is...

"Even if you've never seen a durian fruit, you've probably heard about its overwhelming odor. It's so potent that the fruit has been banned from hotels and public transit systems in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong. It's been the subject of countless disparaging remarks and comparisons, but the truth is more complicated than that. Research has revealed that durian contains aromatic compounds linked to sulfur, rotten onions, cabbage, and natural gas leaks — but it also contains exceptionally high concentrations of fruity compounds, which can be appealing. Unfortunately, the negative aspects of durian's smell have so overshadowed its reputation that most people haven't even bothered to find out what it tastes like..."

I will admit that it tasted better than it smelled....and that ain't saying much.  All my friend had to do was barely crack open the container it was in and damn it was bad.  I think the only thing that kept me from selling Buicks was that I held my nose when I tried it.

When I was a kid my grandparents had me try Rocky Mountain Oysters, had no idea what they were at the time but I recall them being disgusting.

Found out years later what they really are, yep my grandparents fed me fried bull balls....

Cooked peas. Was forced to eat them by 4th grade teacher. Puked them right back up on the tray in front of her.

Fresh out of the pod I can do.

I’m not a picky eater at all.

But…

With sushi I have to get soy paper, can’t stand the seaweed crap

And I used to love liver, until I heard it referred to as “organ meat” , which I always knew it was, but now I won’t touch it. Weird, I know.

But not as weird as not liking raw tomatoes! Right out of the garden, over the sink after washing the sevin  dust off of it, with a salt shaker in one hand and tomato in the other… nothin better!

Also with sushi, I don’t do eel sauce.

I imagine them holding an eel over it and squeezing, and what comes out is the eel sauce!!!

😁

I went perch fishing last Thursday. Fish are loaded with either eggs or sperm. I held onto one of the male perch a little too firmly and I ended up with perch sauce all over myself.  😑

Maybe I have never had proper sushi but I don't get what the big deal is with it.

I didn’t either until I had spicy tuna. I’ve been asked to leave a sushi buffet before because of it.

Quality sushi is an absolute pleasure to eat.

Now olives, raw oysters, sea urchin, most cheeses, especially bleu cheese, can fuck right off.

Fried chicken livers are my jam though.  Shout out to Pioneer Chicken (R.I.P.).

Throw some jalapenos on top of some sauerkraut - good stuff! 🙂

😂🤣🤣

I’m in the minority as I freaking love onions. And garlic. In large portions. Much to my better half’s dismay. 😁
