So everything that is posted or said by the Trump admin is a complete lie?
Out of these countries you listed, what irreparable impact do they have on the US economy. Also, what products do they provide that the US will never be able to manufacture?
Turns out, you CAN make this shit up™
I don't understand why he needed to use a fake source to back up his own ideas and recommendations. Really weird.

I don’t think he lied on anything other than mislabeling them as reciprocal tariffs. He was straight forward when saying this will provide income to the federal government in lieu of raising income taxes.
The deficit and debt is so out of control, there is going to be real tough decisions that need to be made. So far the cuts made by doge probably only buy us hours on the interest payments alone. The 800 lb gorilla is social security, Medicare, and Medicaid which no one has a plan for.
I personally am not a fan of tarrifs but other options to raise income are not desirable either. We just keep screwing our kids over at every step so something has to be done .
Yep. They’ve said time and time again that Medicaid wouldn’t be affected.
No one previously made an effort to do anything.

So now you are the smartest guy in here.......all the way from kangaroo country?
I see the Aussie is still losing his shit and has decided that he’s the ultimate source of truth.
Talk about “cultist behaviors”! 🤣
Don’t you love it when foreigners advise us on how to run our country?😂
I think Trump is highly motivated ,maybe too highly motivated in regards to all this Tariff stuff. People on all sides of the isle are worried.
I think it's great we need to make sure we get acceptable decent deals and not get ripped off. However, doing something like he's done so fast it's going to cause problems. Had we done something like this slowly over time (20/30 years) in regards to making deals and setting tarriffs ect ... I think it would've went much smoother.
But trowing it up in the air all at once - we dont know what we will get once it all comes down. While it's an interesting tactic he is using- it's also unknown of where we will be in 2 years in an economic sense. Now I hope it all works out for us - but who knows.
I don't think he is a kangaroo country guy. Way too emotionally involved for that.
But we have a few, canuks, Euros, NZ, and Kangaroos chipping in like they know anything about what we are discussing.
I will admit they are entertaining....in a funny way.
Sort of like that foreigner Musk, right?
I knew you were from the south before I even clicked with all that kool aid spilling you do. Louisiana ranked 47th in education did you well 😂.
They will just down vote you but it’s always funny to see their hypocrisy.
Musk has been a US citizen for close to 23 years...
Not sure if he lives in Austin, or Mesa, or elsewhere in the US though.
There’s one pretty solid plan. Tax the .1%. If you have tens of billions of dollars you can afford to pay more taxes. It’s crazy people will on here and defend them like a good little lap dog. No one would know what to do with a billion dollars in their lifetime and some people are worth tens to hundreds of times that amount.
This discussion has more than ran its course on the MULTIPLE threads about it. Shower me in down votes here, but the consumer holds all the power here - of you dont like what a pair of Air Jordans, or that new Apple phone, or all that disposible Chinese crap Amazon sells costs, SIMPLY DONT BUY THEM!! If the cost of that new Xbox is keeping you up at night, your not emotionally mature enough to even be a part of the conversation here. How have you not noticed the costs of real estate, insurance, fast food, goods and services, and automobiles has grown exponentially over the last 20 years? And Trump didnt cause any of it. (Edited for clarity)
Sounds like China is turning off the taps for critical minerals. they supply almost all of the US needs. Going to make it hard to build - well pretty much anything with electronics nowadays.
"China placed export restrictions on rare earth elements on Friday as part of its sweeping response to U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs, squeezing supply to the West of minerals used to make weapons, electronics and a range of consumer goods."

The one that became a US citizen in 2002.....that one?
Pit Row
That's the one. The one who's probably paid more taxes than all of us on here put together. I'd assume( At least I'd hope so).
The neighborhood just around the corner from me went up from 500K to, 625K on average within 18 months.
My health insurance is an extra $120 a month.
$300 a week to fill a fridge. No, I’m not eating Wagyu.
I wish though.
While I did in fact vote for Trump and, consider myself a cautious optimist, it’s concerning when my dollar doesn’t quite stretch as far as it did the previous month. More so, knowing this trend will continue.
I don't think the housing market will ever again be in line with main street's economic reality as long as institutions are buying single family homes. There is hardly ever a surplus to drive prices down anymore. Apartment prices are what a mortgage cost for a small home just 10 years ago.
Me and you are more alike than you'll ever know. The real estate market is riding a bubble that HAS to pop at some point, this upward trend cant keep up forever. I dont like that a new Toyota Tacoma stickers for $50k, or that a combo meal at Taco Bell is now over $12 - I combat this the only way I can, and thats to choose to NOT spend my money where I dont think its wise to. Mega corporations that think they'll simply "pass the buck" of added expenses on to ME, are simply mistaken.
I’m just glad my kids are grown and, out of the house.
Those little fast food joints while doing things with kids on the weekends add up. Simple cheeseburger meals are $10 each.
I remember telling myself, if I can pay the bills, throw a little in savings each week, take the wife out to dinner once in awhile, I’m doing OK.
These days, I’m telling myself be thankful I’m driving a company vehicle to work and, have a gas card.
My son just got his first apartment last month with his GF. $1900 for a two bedroom

Around where I live blackrock isn't buying houses and there aren't a bunch of illegal immigrants occupying them either and prices are 2x-3x in the last 5 years. There's a lot more houses on the market now than there were a year or 2 ago and they aren't moving nearly as fast.
House replacement cost is way higher now so house insurance is much higher, and the county just reassessed so property taxes are based on a much higher value than before.
The housing bubble is definitely ready for a correction, but if you pop a bunch lof bubbles at the same time your chances of sinking the country go way up.
Nice deflection. I wouldn't say I'm the smartest. But you don't to be smart in the slightest to know it's a terrible approach to working out what to impose on another country. But go ahead, educate me on why it's the correct way and why what I said is wrong.
Please explain what part of the equation?
https://ustr.gov/issue-areas/reciprocal-tariff-calculations
It's been discussed in this thread "ad nauseum" for 10 pages! The tariffs were just enacted, anyone that says for certain of all the outcomes of them must be a smart MotherF*cker!
I don't think that is you...sorry.
No, there's been very little explanation or discourse around why the formula is correct. Please enlighten us on why the following is adequate to use:
