Donate the money Haiden...

...from the sale of your mugshot t-shirt to help those who are paralyzed do to mx or other injuries to outfit their vans so they can drive.

This is a golden opportunity to help fellow riders who have been paralyzed doing what they love to do into a positive thing

You will completely neutralize those who are criticizing you by saying you are profiting off a crime, by turning it into something where the whole moto community comes together to donate to helping others.

What you are doing is taking your dumb driving decision and turning it into a positive by helping others to drive.

Just a thought from your PR buddy Sandberm.

I think he should donate his championship money to second place since they are a lesser rider and want the c ship.

The Lord has surely blessed Haiden and the Deegan family, if it is in his heart to do so then he will.

He can do whatever he wants with his money. FFS, we spend more money on dirt bikes than some people make in years in some parts of the world while people are starving or dying of preventable diseases. Who are any of us to think we should tell someone else how and when to be charitable?

I take care of my 92 year old mom.

I have savings and between that and my wife working I can afford  be there for mom in her final years by living frugally.

I take her to doctors appointments, pick up prescriptions, mow her yard, fix stuff in her house but most of all I am always there for her, checking in often. I do this not only because I love her but she deserves this respect.

That is who i am.

I have respect for you @Sandberm656, I took care of my paralyzed grandmother for the last two years of her life and it is no easy task. It was the most crucial time of my life when I needed the wisdom she had to offer and she needed the assistance I gave her. It was a wonderful thing to have that time with her and I’m glad I was able to do it.

Its tough. Helping an elderly relative is humbling. It gives one perspective on life and though it is tough at times I am happy to be blessed to be able to do this.

As someone who can’t stand the kid and his family’s attention seeking, I would applaud this.

Surprised his ‘Marketing Genius, God loving’ father hasn’t thought about something positive they could do for attention. He goes on enough about raising his kids right.

Hell of a rider, shitty person and role model.

If anyone cares, a quick Google search shows that Brian Deegan does plenty of charity work - that we know about:

“Designability Fundraising:

Brian Deegan has used his platform to raise money for Designability, a non-profit organization that designs and provides products that enable disabled children and adults to live with greater independence.

Giving Back to Charities:

Brian Deegan has stated his commitment to giving back to charities to support those in need, particularly during times of crisis, like the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Now that’s Brian, not Haiden. But they sound like a family that doesn’t need us telling them to be charitable.

One or two others have - contrary to Vital rules - brought up religion, so I’ll go ahead and join in: Jesus said to give in secret, not to make a show of it. That sounds like great advice and if the Deegans take their faith seriously, there’s a good chance that if they do something charitable with this money, we’ll never know. And we don’t need to.

i think they go to Elevation, therefore IMO, probably don't take their faith that seriously/humbly. not that they're humble in anything they do.

I did a similar thing for a my Dutch Grandpa . Grandma went threw her 10 day dying phrase at home. He wanted to die the same day I caught him not eating & laid the law down. I ended up teaching him how to use a phone . I had him call my mom it was cute. How to cook , laundry basic living stuff, cut the grass together. Give him driving lessons , bring a nice girl out to help pick his spirits up, listen to blink 182 together he liked it.  And was like a teenager on his own.  He never helped me when I needed it with protection from my dad but that’s life. I wasn’t turning my back on him. He was killed from a car wreck, I was with him when they pulled the plug.  Ovr tge weekend I watched a Duran Duran a part of 3 . Huge success full band 1 decade & broke the next .  I don’t see Deeg racing past 25 yrs of age . All the weird promo family stuff will take its toll.  The 10-20 mil can disappear Real fast if he ever makes that much .  He,ll get tired of Brian controlling everything. Then break away but he doesn’t know how to do things correctly.  Bands that made hundreds of millions more end up broke .

I don’t know what Elevation is. I’m not interested in evaluating their church membership or beliefs. My point is that it’s more virtuous to give without doing it for pride, your “brand”, or for any other self serving reason (not that the outcome can’t be good regardless) and there are others who think this as well. If that’s true, then you can’t judge someone’s level of charity based on what they do publicly. Furthermore, the suggestion that they do something charitable to boost their brand is  actually somewhat objectionable. That’s not charity, it’s advertising (again, with a good outcome, but it’s not particularly virtuous).

I agree in general. In this case like Matthes said it's sort of a mea culpa. "To show we know it's wrong and we know how important setting an example is we're gonna put some money towards getting kids on track and off the streets".  It's not a big deal tho I don't mean to over scrutinize. It's whatever.

I don’t expect him to be contrite. He did donuts in a parking lot. I wouldn’t be contrite over that. I also wouldn’t be drawing attention to it. It’s nothing and he doesn’t owe anyone anything other than whatever fine he’s required to pay.

Here's the thing. People who don't like Deegn will keep finding ways to bash the kid and his family.

Use this thread as an example. Deegan is damned either way. He is now damned because he has not giving the money he has earned from selling merch away to a charity.

If he decides to donate to a charity then he will be damned by the same people (who's calling him out to donate) who will then cry that donating to charity is another publicity stunt.

Leave the kid be. He will pay his fine for doing doughnuts and he will move on. He is young and is still figuring things out as he grows up. Brian ain't going to control him forever, Hayden will grow up and make his own calls. He truelly ain't a bad kid.

Note - not a attack on you Sandman, just my opinion.

He can do whatever he wants with his money. FFS, we spend more money on dirt bikes than some people make in years in some parts of the world while people are starving or dying of preventable diseases. Who are any of us to think we should tell someone else how and when to be charitable?

^^^

We have the government for that....   (telling us how, when and how much).

The most embarrassing thing about vital is how grown men who hate him act like scorned schoolgirls. Pathetic.
