Interested to hear opinions on why this isn't a thing.
How can we be perfectly cool with alcohol being legal and not a plant?
Especially interested to hear opinions from Republicans that want "less government" but fully support the government regulating a plant....how do you justify that?
Because alcohol was socially acceptable then it wasn't, then it was. And the alcohol lobby.
All the cool states are doing it.
I've never smoked weed.
Its legal here in Washington and has been for some time. I honestly have not noticed anything bad about having it legal. Whenever i drive buy the pot stores i see a mix of people going in and out.
About the only negative I have heard about is the smell. They had a legal pot grow on the edge of a neighboring town that was quite pungent i guess. I gather there isn't much money in growing it anymore as evidenced by all the abandoned grow sites. Hell, its farming,
Has anybody else that lives in a state where it is legal noticed any bad side effects?
Here in this state - it's all the elderly people that were raised to believe it was bad and don't know anything about the topic. that vote against it.
I'd honestly support Trump signing a bill to legalize it and inviting Cheech & Chong to the White House when he signed it. He would make history legalizing it. And doing it in a comical form with two biggest stoner role models in history would be great.

Anyone can grow a plant (free). not everyone is an alchemist (demand). $$$
Weed kind of hits you instantly as well, going from sober to stoned AF in under a minute. A couple of drinks take a while to get you that buzz.
It just depends. Edibles that are big thing now take an hour to hit some folks at times.
Even vaping and smoking - some strains can take time to hit... They are always referred to as creeper strains - hits you in like 15 minutes.
I was more talking about smoking vs having a couple drinks. You are right about the various ways for consuming THC and their effects.
It's wild to even visit a state where weed ISN'T legal these days! There may be a few negatives here and there, but it pales in comparison to actually arresting someone and ruining their life over some freaking pot.
Gotta love the stoners!
I'm someone who has never smoked weed in their life and even I don't get it. Just make it legal.
I tried an edible last year. 20 mg. it was the worst night of my life. I was afraid to get up and sat there holding myself down in the chair for hours. Never again!
20mg is way too much unless you’ve built up a tolerance. People that aren’t used to it should start with 2.5-10mg and 10 is probably too much.
I told the guy at the weed shop I wanted something for back pain and that is what he gave me.
That dude was an idiot.
Tolerance can matter. I've bought 100mg ones and taken half and had to lay on my side for a couple hours. It's sorta like with drinking too much - it will make you sick. But the flip side with booze is an OD can lead to death. With THC I don't know of it ever killing anyone that was healthy directly from an OD.
Yea he set ya up for failure. Should have eaten a 1/4 of the gummy.
Edibles used to be a real gamble when I was growing up. Home made brownies and cookies you had no idea how much the thc content was and just along for the ride.
Probably high at the time lol.
He probably smoked/ate a lot of THC (working at a weed shop his tolerance was prolly very high) and that is what he normally took as a dosage himself. LOL
Pit Row
Man, the day before race day seems like its always a doozy!
That would also make a great SNL skit.
They should only allow marijuana pills for medicinal purposes. They should NOT allow it to be smoked in public leisurely. It smells like ass and I don't want that shit around me or my kid when I'm out in public or at a fkn Supercross race at an enclosed stadium. When it was illegal they were still smoking it at every sporting event in Minneapolis. Who's still smoking weed like a high school stoner? Grow up.
Yeah, nobody that I know decided to start smoking pot when it became legal.
The smell thing is real, but to be honest it’s not as bad as a ripe hops field!!!
The biggest positive is that people aren’t going to jail just because they’re recreational drug is cannabis instead of alcohol. That has always been pretty stupid.
I don’t care either way- just legalize it and be done.
It can be a gateway to worse drugs, but I don’t care much about other people so there is that.
Had a co worker who was high strung and weed made him normal. He used to drive the factory Yamaha semi with a pipe in one hand and steering wheel in the other. He was impossible to be around when he wasn’t high..stuttered.
Got close friends who’s retired dad from MI smokes weed all the time..seems fine for him, good guy. . He still golfs..
Anytime I am in Milwaukee country everything smells like weed..the hwy, stores, workers, drive thru, gas station…smell it waiting at a stop light.
Do you also think that people who drink alcohol need to "grow up" ??
Tavern league in Wisconsin is against it, we don't want to lose our title!
First time unless your pain level was high and without any cbd which blunts the "high" effect but maintains the pain suppression and appetite boost. Even then I wouldn't tell someone more than a 10 their first time on top of first time with any weed products.
While that dude was a dick. Gummies and edibles are a wild card. Many conversations on how from the same package of gummis sometimes you get that one gummi that was on steroids when they made it and now your sittin on the couch high as balls wondering how the hell you went from sober to this and how now whatever you had planned to do is questionable at best. Lol
Some people certain types, brownies. Cookies, gummis ect all hit them differently with the same amount. Same dose brownies always hit me harder than gummis without fail every single time. Great for comedy and going to see stand up though.
Has anyone ever met someone who went to jail/prison/juvey just for weed? I mean don't get me wrong I know it's happened and maybe in a super strict dry town/county.
But in my personal experience I've only ever seen people go to jail on weed charges for larger amounts 3lbs+ basically trafficing or when they make deals to drop the real serious charges but take the guilty for the posseion of weed giving the DA a conviction, them a sentence without getting the book thrown at them.
Yes - I've know of a couple. Even folks growing for personal use, just a couple plants. Then they get charged for pounds of it once they weight it. They typically weight whole plants, roots, dirt and pots at times. That's how they abuse the system to lock up people (triple the weight) - who shouldn't be locked up.
Then there's folks in society on probation ect...if they get caught with even a weed pipe in some states while on prob it can get them sent to prison depending on priors and prob conditions. If they have a violent history - I'd rather see them smoking weed then drinking.
I think what puts people off about legalizing weed is the manner in which it's already "legal", legal meaning how it's not enforced, and the manner being, when douchebags are driving around smoking weed and you can smell it ten cars back. Legal doesn't mean it's like having a soda wherever and whenever you want, yet that seems to be where legal will lead, since that's already where it's at in states where it's no enforced. To that end, I say fuck all that. Had people been respectful with their weed use, I'd be far more inclined to support legalization.
Not jail, per se, but a friend of mine in Austin got caught with a roach in his ash tray and he got arrested and charged with possession.
He absolutely could not find a job after that. He ended up taking some insanely crappy job because it was all he could get.
It screwed up his entire life, for a little doobie...
