Brian "Spud" Walters
I have another name from the past besides Trey Jorski I posted early. Tony Wynn out of Sherwood, Arkansas. He was Smokin fast too.
I raced at a track in Arkansas back in the day and at riders meeting I asked if Tony Wynn was racing and one of the guys said not today but he’s raced here before. I think the track was outside Fort Smith Arkansas, long time ago. I was a decent amateur but never made it to the money class, it was still fun to race and see the fast guys race.
Not from the 0's or teen's but some of the guys I battled with in Texas that had some national and world success.
Dennis Hawthorne, Roger Brown, David McClain, Dan Conway, Kirk Spencer, Chad Parker, Danny Storebeck, Derrick Wedding, Kyle Landrum, Darren Rhoten and Jerry Surber Jr.
Dear mr curious vital poster,
I do believe the op put the time range in there after a lot of these responses were posted.
But you stay curious my friend.
Pit Row
Ryan Huffman and Shawn highland. Got my ass handed to me by both of them. It’s a shame we never got to see there true potential.
I'll stand behind the fact that Cameron Stone should have had a much bigger career than he had. The things I watched him do on a bike at times was unbelievable. I was lucky enough to watch the likes of Matt Shue, Jon Boy Monk, DC Thomason, Kris Swaney, Tony Graham on almost a weekly basis at one point. Derrick Fisher was always one I loved watching as well. I actually came here to say Ian Trettle was the one that stood out to me the most. Someone already mentioned him in a early post but I grew up racing with that kid and have always felt he got robbed of a mega career with his head injury. Izzi and Stroupe have been mentioned as well but I don't think they really get the recognition they deserve by the general population for the talent they had. I actually forgot how good they were at times. Watching them throwing down on 85s was always one of my favorite to watch as a kid. Lots of great names in this post that I haven't seen or heard in a long time!
I put the time range there initially, not after anything, but I don't mind learning about old school riders. 70s, 80s, 90s, all are fine, I was just mainly curious about the 2000s-2010s, as that's when I grew up. I was just a small lad at the time, and only had a toy Chad Reed KX450F. I didn't know much about motocross then, trying to catch up on what I missed.
It's more 2010s, but whatever happened to Joey Crown? He pretty much is the rider that legitimized ClubMX as a team with his flashes of brilliance in between injuries.
Kyle Regal

Saw him in the results for the Florida GNCC this year.

sad thing is I only remembered him for getting caught up in tht whole reedy & stew fiasco at ATL ‘11
“The kid with the lips” - Kenny Watson
Steve Mertens
