Heard they were booing him on the podium.

I don't know that they're true motocross fans. Certainly not purists.

Perhaps just fans of certain riders.

Perhaps nationalists. "Patriots"

I don't get it.

When an artist wields a talented brush, I care not from which land he comes,

nor the color of his skin - more so the pretty picture that hangs in the foyer.

That does suck but they are entitled to there own opinion of who they like or dislike. I will admit that he is a great rider and I admire what he has been through to get where he is. But, I don't care for him and will never cheer for him.

Just like we we're talking about earlier there is just something about his personality that rubs people the wrong way.

I would NEVER ever boo a rider even if i thought he was a shit talking, cocky smart ass. its not classy but you should watch NASCAR to see what really goes on in the BOO world! What we see at MX races is nothing compared to other sports.

Perhaps the boo birds remember CP calling RD a puddy tat after RD won the title last year? A predominance of we rednecks frown on that kind of stuff. A man of the world, such as yourself Rup, might see it differently. That's cool. BTW, I love his style, lines on the track and, admire his determination. He certainly is an artist. So is Yngwie Malmsteen. Great player but, I wouldn't buy his recordings.

I would say those remarks and others he has made are what the boo birds are using as ammo. Never ever is it a good idea to talk shit, it always comes back to bite you in the ass as CP has found out.

People dont have to like the guy for whatever reason they come up with. But to boo a Pro Dirt Bike rider is f~*king douchey. IMO

I doubt its people who have ever raced seriously.

CP is a bad mofo.

You said it wreckitrandy. I was a big fan of his until his little hissy fit after RD won the title last year. Poor sportsmanship. Anyway you look at it, poor sportsmanship. Same reason I don't like Stewart. Can't man-up when they get beat and just say, "I got beat today by a better rider". To me that's class. These two riders don't have it. I won't boo them, but I won't cheer them either. I have that right and if you or anyone else don't like it, too bad.

I agree with never booing a rider, like him or not, i wouldnt do it.....i respect what these guys do too much to be such a lame ass out there booing them, maybe its because i myself ride and anyone that does actually ride knows how hard it is to even qualify for a race at that level, i think the guys who are out there to boo riders either are clueless or don't even ride....either that or as you said they probably just have no class, these racers we watch week in and week out are humans just like us, do they think they are machines with no feelings or what is it? Are they just that envious? Beats me...watever though, it takes all kinds to make the world go round i suppose..

Frenchie's have been gettin' booed over here for decades. Not all of them mind you. Just the ones that do really well! CP is a great rider. He might be a great guy. He may be misunderstood. I think all of that applied to Bayle as well. He got booed plumb out of the country. Get some thicker skin. Bob Hannah got booed once. He flipped the whole country the bird. Not that I'd recommend CP try it!

Yeah, I don't get the boo'ing...

I was totally pulling for Canard but that was one good race. That was a champ digging deep to salvage his weekend. Shows what he is made of. Good stuff.

I can tell you what rubs people the wrong way, he's French, and FOX News does not like the French. Most people are too stupid or lazy to think for themselves, it takes to much effort.

I personally love to watch that kid ride, he is awesome. Rubert is right, a true moto head would not care where he is from. You would think people would appreciate his skills and just be glad he can ride after his injuries.

The US in not the only country on the planet. There are many other interesting places and people we share this world with. Learn to appreciate them.

The bigger the mouth the smaller the brain.

In fact I believe if you put "Boo" in the Retard to English translator you will be presented with the following translation:
"I'm an ignorant, brainless moron"

If you watch the vurb video of CP's crash, watch the end of the video when he and Canard paid their respects to each other for a great ride, and a great series to this point, and CP has acknowledged as much gracefully. He has learned perhaps from his earlier gaffes. There is no denying he is a bad mofo and when he gets on the 450 with that fluid style, he will be in contention. The 450 class, I predict, will be the deepest one yet, providing everyone gets to A1 healthy...which rarely happens...we can always hope.

I would call them dumbasses that can't tell real heart in a rider. CP wadded himself up and bike in the first moto, then comes back and blasts the second. Those who were booing him need a swift kick to the balls.

There is something about French people that America doesn't like. I'm a die hard motocross fan and don't care if he was from Iran, I would still admire his riding skills. Doesn't mean I have to like his personality though. Everyone is saying its cause American's hate the French and blah blah blah but we took in Roncada, Tortelli and DV with open arms! Even Sorby for that matter most people like even though he was a dirty rider. So I'm not really sure about all that. I believe its cause he rarely smiles and doesn't speak very outgoing.

Probably because Pourcel and JMB, for the most part, win easily?

Right again Rup...
I suspect the goons that were booing were a scant few, that had a few too many.
They might as well get used to it...Pourcel is JMB reincarnate.
He will be a factor on 450s.

Maybe he is still adapting to living in a new country, not to mention language barriers? Heck put me in France and see how well i adapt socially with my lack of ability to speak French fluidly even if at all at times..`

Despite people are very complex in many ways I suggest the reason for booing is often not that complex at all. People might even get attacked if they openly show their support to CP (according to that women and CP himself in the TWMX vid) at the races which suggest many American fans are having some serious issues. The "reason" that this is CP fault and the lame ass explanation that it has to do with him no giving RD cred, or he's not as outspoken or whatever doesn't hold any water since these crimes makes a majority of riders "guilty". Andrew Short is considered the dirties rider by other riders, is loved by so many here. Hmmm Yeah, that makes sense. CP is a bad guy, but Short is a good guy...

The fact is that CP winning makes some people feel miserable, and that is more their lack of self esteem and identity issues that comes out than anything else.

What do you guys think the odds are for the guys that gave Stewart the finger and shouted the n-word are also angry towards French? Do people here really want to belong to these groups of lesser humans?

If mx fans who had prejudgment towards french riders had any knowledge of history and for example learned how the French supported the Americans against the Brits that lead to the foundation of America we would have this much turbulence around french riders.

If James show's at Southwick, anyone on the fence giving him any flack should be punched in the face.
