Best Chest Protector for me?

Getting back into riding at 27 after about an 8 year break. I was hoping you guys could help me pick a chest protector from the ones below. I'm in GA, so I will be riding some mx tracks and woods here. I would like to prioritize comfort over everything as I don't want to hate wearing whatever I get. It's also hot here so airflow is important. I bought a Leatt 5.5 neck brace that I will be wearing for moto & high speed riding.

A lot of the options below have shoulder pads, but if those aren't worth it I will opt for the option with no shoulder pads.

1. Comfort

2. Airflow

3. Protection

4. Cost

If anyone has ridden in one or multiple of the options, please let me know what you thought and which was most comfortable for you.

Thanks

I know you put alpinestars a1, but I would look at the a5 plasma. The wife got me one for Christmas. It is comfortable, breathes well, and has great protection.

I've been using the Leatt 4.5 evo (without shoulder pads) for a few months now. I really like it: it's lighter than the regular 4.5 chest protector and you don't feel it at all whilst riding. It vents really well too, I'm based in Italy and it can get pretty hot here. It's also CE Level 2.

If I were you, I would also consider the Alpinestars A5 Plasma as someone else mentioned.

X2 on the Leatt 4.5.  I barely notice it is there, and the chest and back protection are definitely above the rest.  I am in east TN so it is hot here too, at no point have I ever wanted to ride without mine due to heat/venting.

Don't know why someone downvoted you for telling an absolute truth. Maybe he's a flat Earther?

I have the Leatt 4.5 and the Alpinestars A1, and disagree with some opinions above. I find the Leatt unbearably hot in the summer months. The Alpinestars vents much better for me. Both are really well made, and  the Leatt is the more protective feeling of the two for me.

I have the Leatt 4.5 evo and the TLD rockfight with the D30 backpad only and I like both but prefer the TLD currently.

I wouldn't go any bigger than the Leatt 4.5 Evo, anything bigger than that is just not going to really do much more and is going to be way more restricting and hot as hell. Protecting from roost and spreading the load out if you hit your chest on the bars or on a rock or tree is about all you can expect a chest protector to do.

They wont keep you from breaking ribs, they wont keep you from breaking your back and they probably wont protect you from breaking your sternum.

Alpinestars Tech-Air Off-road and soon to be released Tech-Air MX later this year are reported to ventilate pretty well with great protection …

I have an Alpinestars  A-10 and I'm happy with it. Very good protection and good ventilation, though I don't know how a Leatt neck brace would work with it.
