Absolutely no clue where he would slot in consistently, but could see him surprising running with the top 5 on occasion

“Mikkel Haarup”. Exciting news as I thought he would spend the year developing and get ready for racing next year.

On the 450, or 250?

I ask because he had / has the 450 'development ride' for Triumph this year, with him to race the MXGP class next year. I had a thought he might well do a few GPs later in the series.

Is the 450 homologated for US racing?

He 'aged out ' of the 250 series last year, due to that p**s poor rule they persist with.

But, there's no such Utter Stupidity with the US series, so, 250s there? The Outdoors? I can't imagine they'd throw him into the SX series, at this stage.

I can't find anything about this, so far.

I'd say he finishes between 5th and 7th in the standings if he races all of them.

Great addition to the series, I think he’s going to give some of our top guys serious troubles.

Wait, did they announce it now? Or are we still in the hoping stage?

I'd say 5-8. He was 5th in MX2 last year.

Big Lu said so, and what’s up with that name?🤣

Who is Big Lu?  Is this real or not?  ML or Lewis can you confirm?

Guessing Big "Lew". I'd take that as a confirmation for now then 👍

In before announcers will murder his surname by going with “Hairup”. Paging Weege/Matthes to consult Big Lew (and Big Lew consulting Mikkel himself) first for proper pronunciation of the Haarup name. Not that anyone cares.

If he comes, and assuming he has to race in the 250 class, he is absolutely top 10 IMO, maybe top 5.  He is very fast.  He was hanging right there with Lucas Coenen and Kay De Wolf last year in many races and those guys rip.  Plus he has been training moto only, not grinding it out in supercross.

Not necessarily, he had been riding SX as he was going to fill in for Swoll in SX but crashed and hurt himself...

But he has been back in Europe testing/riding moto for several months now, at least that is what I thought...

He’s very good but pretty streaky, near the podium one week, nowhere the next.

Also Euros have tended to not be at their best Year 1 of the outdoors, ever since they went to a one day format. They are used to a ton of track time.

I predict top Triumph rider, a few top 5 overalls.

I'm not fully 'up' on the US Triumph 250 Teams 'Injury Roster', but I think Harrups' being brought in is very much part of that.

Either  a couple out, or just coming back in at the start of the Nationals, I think?

So, it's great idea to make More use of Mikkel.

I hope it works out for the young bloke, and Triumph. It's good to see this happening. F**k Luongo and his  "23 and You're Out" rule!

Is this confirmed anywhere? I can't find any source

I’ll be interested how Mikkel gets on, I’m not gonna predict how I’ll think he do. He comes across as a nice guy in his interviews. I remember when he was a tiny kid riding EMX 125 where he used to run his original number 722.

It’s not official, in terms of announcements. But everything points to it happening. He’s back on the bike and testing here in the US.

Yes, he was injured riding Supercross and had been off the bike.

Problem with him, he is such an arrogant prick. No team will go near him, he's just not good for any brand as an ambassador.   Consistently in the top, but, no one will go near him for his terrible attitude.   Same deal with Chad Reed back in the day.  Remember TwoTwo Motorsport?  No serious sponsors would go near him just for his mouth.  Mikkel needs some coach to bring him into line. There's no reason he should not be racing 2025, apart from his bad attitude.

Is that why Triumph kept him and found him a ride because they didn’t have a 450 ride in Europe ready for him? Seems like he has a pretty good relationship with them
