Dam this picture is iconic. Dungey was fast and calculated, and that’s a strong combo!!!

I think the coolest part of Dunge’s story was getting picked out of the B class.

Wasn’t it 125 jr and 125 b ? JM Racing built his engine he ran JM suspension too.  He never mentioned that . I think it’s odd the riders never mention who got them there.

Dungey won the 2nd Highpoint moto by 40-some seconds in his 2010 rookie year.  We knew he was the real deal by then.

Had Canard not ran into his rear sprocket at one of the early California rounds in 2011 resulting in a DNF and had his fuel not boiled in outdoors that year at freestone he would have won both titles his sophomore year in the 450 class. I know it's a "If" but both of those things were out of his control. He would have only needed to place in the top ten in the SX round he DNF'd which would have been pretty easy given his consistency.

You're saying he would have won both titles in 2012? That's one giant what if

He 100% would’ve won outdoors if he didn’t dnf one moto. He won the motis and races.

Honest question - no disrespect: do you american fellas DONT KNOW that the rest of the world pirates the sh1t out of every american sport and watch it for free? I find weird when I see someone saying stuff like this. Its like, theres even a whole "russian facebook" thing called "VK" that has EVERY SPORT possible being uploaded there for us to watch for free. Sure, you gotta avoid spoilers for some 2 - 3 hours before someone uploads and that ruins part of the experience of chatting with fans while the race happens (the coolest part IMO), but thats how tons of non-us fans watch your sports.

Okay ,I'll bite, but, like everyone else that ignored your ridiculous post, I really should too....

The answer is yes, we know it.

But most are like me, an upstanding, tax paying conservative that doesn't break the law.  We've been working our buts off and paying our taxes since we were 15 y.o. to support this whole dang world!

So when it comes to paying to watch content through a provider, we open our wallets and chip in our $60. / year to support the companies broadcasting the content. If we all pirate, they don't make money, the y leave and we end up with nothing to even patriate.

Get it?

So go ahead and and take your free ride on us all American guys just out here doing our part for all you free loaders.

Surprised your government doesn't cover this to you for "free"....

Be better.

**Edited for my bad spelling. (I'm sure there is stuff i missed...)  I already wish I wouldn't have mudded up this great thread by responding to you.  But I know RD would approve of my position here, so I'll leave it up.

I believe you guys are talking about 2011, not 2012.

Dungey came in and with his smooth and smart racing he quietly dominated.

I can't find it, but there is an interview right after the last race, and RV said that he definitely had some luck with Dungey's DNF earlier in the season.

Without Dungey running out of gas at the Texas round, he almost certainly would have won the title.  Of course, Reed was on fire until his infamous chadapult.

Yeah Dungey was so badass when he was the best motocross racer in the US and skipped MXDN multiple times. And then still retired at 27 due to burn out. Legend.

RC was 27 and RV 26 when they retired.
