Originally it was stated that he would only miss the first round. Lets hope he is ready.
No, his first race will be the Dutch ONK on March 30.
So he will miss the first 3 MXGP races for sure.
It looks like it's going to a mud race...

I hope they can scrape off the top layer because if they don’t it’s going to be a true mess
Not looking too great over the weekend either. If I looked up the right town, I see a high of 47 F on Saturday and 49 Sunday with chance of showers both days. 33 for the low tonight. Will make it hard to get the track dried out, should be interesting.... Could give the guys who got off to slow starts a chance to close the gap a bit

Dang.... if the GP title is a wash, may as well shoot for the AMA's.
The Jorge Prado track in Galica.
That track is just awesome.
Weather is cold and wet but today should not be more rain. Sunday will rain again and monday be worst day. Spanish dirt/clay is normally so bad that when rain starts its best to pack quick and try to get your van/truck to tarmac soon as possible other way you will need someone to tow you out like in that photo.
Interesting update Tek14, thank you. I dislike mud races. A mechanics nightmare.
Who are the mud specialists?

In EMX250, guys like Fueri qualified as 25th, Østerhagen as 37th, Doensen as 40th... That's some bad news for them to have to start that far on the outside during the races.
The group 1 125s only did two laps of free practice. I wonder if they abandoned it?
That's what I was thinking
Group2 125s out now.
It must have been a timing glitch, they've updated group1 who did 5/6 laps.

Sun is out but track is treacherous at best. I think the qualifying races this afternoon will be reasonably ok. Tomorrow’s rain could be a real problem, though.

EMX250 and 125 1st Motos done.
Track is a mess, but, not that horrendous.
This Is Motocross Folks!
We'll have the usual twats that call it a flat, pop up track, when it's set on a slope / slopes, much like the 1st GP. I always wonder if said twats are even watching the races.
Track surface is treacherous - water seems to not have puddled at least, other than the start straight and a few other places - and it's got deep, Hard(ening) ruts - the type you just can't tear through. So, there's been a fair few 'laugh in' type prangs.
Malin said during the 125 race "no one seems to want to win this race", with various leaders coming a cropper.
They're Kids, making their way, basically.
Cripes, Townley is a little blighter.
Good to see a youngster get the TM into 2nd, and, there was another one in the top ten.
Not sure if it was one of the top 3 finishers that crashed over the finish line jump. I'm doing my usual 'look over from the Welding Table Saturday Night thing' - I'm doing a batch of 6 x 44 / 56mm tapered , and 3 x 56 / 56mm 'straight' 4130 3 piece DH and Enduro frame Steering Heads, on my somewhat dodgy Rotisserie Jig.
And, at the end of the Moto, there was a youngster stuck up to his knees, having a b**tard of a time getting his legs out of the muck, with his Yamaha stuck to the cases in , what I assume, was the pushed out gloop on the outside of the track. Many of us have been there, done that, and, it's a misery......
MX2 Official Timed Practice up in just about to start - it will be interesting to see if they have the equipment to knock some of the ruts down.
Timing tower is much better this round
