You’re right, they’re boring just like everyone else. Nice work team
Definitely. I think he realised that most of these guys are way faster than he expected and that the "those guys aren't on my level" trash talk backfired a bit. He even said that he tried to go for the win this weekend but Vialle and Hammaker were on it. I like the more humble and focused Deegan, couldn't care less about trash tralk, I just want to see the best riders in the world go at it.
Wouldn't be surprised tho if we get the old interviews back once he dominates outdoors again lol.
So do you think Brian told him to not try and win seasons one and two so he could mature as a racer? Of course not..
For what it’s worth, every time Brian was on Gypsy, Pulp, and in basically every single weekly Deegans Yt video he proclaims that learning and building are more important to their program than winning right now.
You may not believe him, but he’s said it thousands of times on the record, and that tune hasn’t changed since the early early days
Also, I know you keep making race wins the only metric, but see that red plate with the yellow numbers, that’s pretty much always a red plate with yellow numbers and just a 1 for MX and SMX? That’s the literal definition of winning.

Half a race lead on second in points and over a full race lead in points over third......I'm pretty underwhelmed.
You make great points and speak the truth. But this is vital and it’s not going to be understood.
Agreed. Haiden has been building momentum all year. He hasn't been a ball of fire all year but he took what the races gave him and didn't throw away points just sending it. He's sho ing a lot of maturity. Even Saturday I'm sure a win would have been great but he beat everyone on the West he needed too. Had his little off track excursion but took his podium spot. Winning the sx title is all that matters
Bottom line Pauly, you just want to run your mouth to try to make yourself feel better. There isn't a fucking thing that Deegan could do that would make you speak positive of him.
Don't worry, I know that you ain't near man enough to admit that I'm right so let the downvotes and shit talk flow.
Hit me with your best shot little fella....let's see what you can do to try to spin this on me so that you don't have to man the fuck up and admit that I'm right.
“Hes winning but hes not winning enough for me! Im so mad!!!” - Paul666
Ok, I’ll bite.
You are wrong.
What am I wrong about?
Kid has won 1/3 of the races and has a half a race points lead with 4 races still to run.... yet you are still trying to run your mouth and call it underwhelming?
We both know that you just want to run your mouth to try to make yourself feel better. The truth is, you'd probably feel a lot better if you just manned up admitted it, but we both know you won't.
I'm not a "fan" of his but I'm not blind or stupid...ok I'm not blind. That fucker can ride a dirt bike and similar to RC he seems to hate losing more than he cares about winning.
If he can stay healthy he'll be in the mix for quite a while.
I'm not backtracking on saying he started the season somewhat underwhelming. But it's not how you start, it's how you finish. When he wins this title, and he will, this season is a success. Period. I don't care how many races he wins. Championships are what count.
Wrong about what? You're clearly biased when it comes to Haiden. Ryan Villopoto, right up there as one of the sports greats, lost the lites title in 2008 to Trey Canard. It was his third season in the class.
Eli Tomac, another rider you may have heard of, lost a lites title defense to Kenny Roczen. It was Eli's third season in the class. Eli wouldn't win a 450 sx title until 2020.
Your expectations that Haiden needs to win and dominate every season and in every class isn't realistic. Jett didn't win his first lites sx title until his third attempt (though he did dominate). Plus, guys like Julian and Cole are elite level fast guys. So is Vialle and several others.
Haiden definitely didn't set the world on fire in the first few rounds, but there is a very noticeable difference now that he's back on his old program, so I expect more wins are on the way.
Paul is gonna be stuck moving the goalposts for a while. If Deegan wins 9/11 outdoors this year he’ll say the competition was weak or something
Being underwhelmed or overwhelmed by a rider is measured relative to ones expectations.

That could have been a teachable moment for her son, but it wasn't the way they went about it. Sucks for the kid, but the fact is, these riders can't stop and talk to everyone. I'm sure there are similar stories people have of all the riders not taking a moment to talk, and I've seen Haiden talk to his fans. But his lines are bigger than Jett's and a lot of people wait and don't even get an autograph from these riders.
False dichotomy hand waving and gaslighting. They asked for a simple acknowledgement or glance. Yeah teachable as far as picking up in character goes, but given your stance on Ricky I'm not sure that's something you'd agree with.
It’s not rocket science
Somebody else already said this;
If before the season started someone would have posted Deegan at this point would have 2/6 wins, beaten speed wise week after week by 2-3 of his competition, get soundly beaten at the first shootout, etc, etc, etc.
The poster would have been slammed and insulted as a “Hater”.
Now a few of you use statistical gymnastics to explain how this actually makes him the best rider ever. Basically Jett’s “Rival” right now. Other riders weren’t in “His League”, etc, etc.
in a regional 8 race feeder series that has literally been decimated by injuries. It’s to the point West is a last man standing will win title. East is substantially more stacked and competitive.
Hence “Underwhelming”
False dichotomy and gas lighting heh? Sure.
In case you missed it, these riders can't give everyone attention. It's happened to everyone standing in line waiting for an autograph.
BTW, you don't know my stance on RC.
250 MX, 250 SMX, leading 250 sx West...
Nothing says underwhelming like titles and having the red plate.
That was me and they didn't like that post or reality very much. No matter what someone is a hater. It can never be reality.
That's a cool video
Haiden should be a professional and tell his fluff boys to take half an hour off so he can spend the time he promised to meet his fans actually meeting them.
The mom said in the last paragraph she did use it to teach a lesson about the importance of having real human interactions.
What lesson should she have taught?
That no matter how many Deegan YouTube videos you watch, no matter how many Instagram posts you like, no matter how many vitalmx posts you make praising him, when you finally meet face to face Haiden won't even take the time to look at you.
Yeah, that's also an important lesson to teach 8 year olds in this day and age of self-obsessed social media influencers, you should keep that in mind.
Character and charisma/performance are not correlated.
It's almost like parents need to be role models and not rely on professional athletes to do it for them.
Reality is the kid has won 1/3 of the races and has a half race lead with 4 races still to go.
How bad does the reality of that crush your soul? Do you have a safe space to cry little fella? Do you need to take a day off work for mental health?
He’s sitting there with one thing to do, sign autographs. You’d think he’d be able to concentrate on that for the 30 minutes they are out there.
