NBC wants a great name in the booth. Unfortunately, RC is not the same as an announcer as he was as a racer My biggest issue is if the broadcast was free, beggars can't be choosers but we pay to watch this. Why can't it be as good as possible?

I don’t mind RC as a commentator in general. Honestly could care less. He’s good enough for my liking. I like his input. My problem comes from the clip from Arlington. Never saw that. He wouldn’t talk stupid like that to a person like Bowers or Peick.

Viewership in 2024 was up over 25% per race. I’d say you and Vital are the minority based off ratings, which is what all broadcasting has to go off of.

Without clarification as to why viewership is up 25 per cent this stat is meaningless. It could be up for a host of reasons - none of which have anything to do with satisfaction with the commentary team. I would be willing to speculate viewership would be up more if RC was banned from going anywhere near a microphone - along with his girlfriend Tintin.

A few outliers might still complain, but the majority of Vitards would calm down a lot if the commentary team were changed. For example, I saw little to no complaints about the quality of commentary during outdoors with Weege and Stew. The RC bashing is a function of how bad he is at his job not because Vitards are compulsive complainers.

I think if the commentary situation was fixed (Weege and Stew in the booth and no Will on the floor) the complaints would mostly cease.
Maybe or maybe not we don’t know that. But we do know that these ratings are higher with RC in the booth then before when he wasn’t in the booth. Outside of that is just guessing.
