Such a bummer...the ripple effect of KTM's financial downfall....hope all of the current riders can still do the one-off races and make a splash...
Billy's already said he'll do all the races if there's no championship. I assume most of the pros will but for guys like him and Mani they'll have a championship bonus forming a major part of their contracts so I don't know how that's going to work.
Jonny is only going to ride the Valleys Extreme and Erzberg anyway - can't wait to see how he does on the new Triumph enduro.
And we think motocross is niche......
On a side note. Cody webb off to a poor start on the Yz in the US series.

Compared to off road it is, way more participation in off road riding and racing across the board.
It's just not as "glamorous" or easy to film so more money gets pumped into moto. If the industry wanted to put money back into the people that actually pay their bills they'd be spending it in off road.

You're right. I tried to watch some off road and it was boring watching a 300 yard section of woods on a 20 mile loop. Just not camera friendly. Off road is huge here, way bigger than moto. I don't know anyone at all that does hard enduro. Or trials, or super moto, or drag bikes, or... pick a dying sport.
Yeah Loretta Lynns gets like 3500 people attending every year and GNCC averages 5000 every race with much more at Ironman. Loretta's is a hard example because amount of racers is capped but its still generally considered the biggest weekend in motocross.

Yup, not one. All we ride is moto so that's our "community". I don't even know where you'd ride hard enduro here. I do know I'm too old to smash myself up on that stuff.
700 people at Horn last weekend for the NMA opener and not a single ambulance ride. They'll have over 1,000 for NORCS in a few weeks.
Speaking of NORCS, your kid could probably do pretty good given his speed from moto.....
I’ve always found it interesting that we all ride motorcycles in the dirt. Very cool.
We have some buddies that do NORCS stuff. Looks like fun. Maybe we will since college is screwing up his seat time for moto.
That’s really not a fair comparison. Many more thousands attempt to qualify at area and regional qualifiers all across the country. Only 3500 actually make the show. Anybody can pay to enter a GNCC any time they feel like. Additionally, there were nowhere near 5000 entries at the first round of the GNCC series this year.

I hope this is sarcasm haha living in Idaho here and the amount of places to hard enduro is endless. Not to mention one of the biggest hard enduro races is every June here in Kellogg. Silver Kings Hard Enduro

I recommend that everyone actually try a season of hard enduro. The learned bike skills are extremely valuable for every other discipline. I don’t like the crazy hard stuff that resembles more like pushing a wheelbarrow up a hill. But challenging terrain, side hills, rocky hill climb switchbacks are pretty satisfying to ride.

Yup. 5 years ago I started some super technical (for me) stuff . Makes you a better rider and is very satisfying to improve so quickly.

Rode moto all the way up to mid twenty's, maybe I'm a wussy but the jumps kept getting bigger and bigger and the hits got harder and harder so I moved into the woods. I know trees don't move but dang, those kids can have the huge doubles out of corners lol.
Don't flatter yourself, if that was the case East Coast dudes would be using that skill to dominate Hard Enduro... and they aren't.
Just because you race through rocks does not make you a hard enduro expert. Hell, I have mountains just out my back door that have more elevation to ride up than any mountain in your whole state and they aren't even big mountains for Idaho 😉

I live an hour from the TKO (ridden there twice) and I have no desire to ride that shit lol. I'm to OCD about keeping my bikes looking clean and nice to beat the shit out of them. But the guys that enjoy that are gnarly dudes, it just isn't fun for me.

Wouldn't call it all hard enduro but Reiter, Walker, Tahuya, Belfair, Mattawa, Saddle back (next to mattawa) to name a few. There is tons of woods / enduro up here its a well known spot for it but just not super publicized.
Endurocross/hard enduro is no joke. I tried to qualify for one of the endurocross rounds in Vegas a long time ago. I was in shape, rode moto weekly, and thought that my skills of the occasional single track ride would be enough. I had myself a very rude awakening.

I got love for all the off road people and places, I've done a couple races in the North East and they were techincal for sure.
No worries…. I was just joking with my comment… I know the hard enduro riding is no joke….any kind of technical off road riding is bad ass…I used to ride my trials bike on massive rock formations for hrs at a time, falling often until I improved…..It helped my riding skills immensely….it all crosses over….
This was coming before KTM had issues. The series and its management has always been a shit show. Riders and teams have been complaining vocally the last couple years.
