So for everyone that’s so against everything Doge and Elon are doing, what is your alternative? Are you just perfectly happy to go about living out your days working 6+ months out of year for the government to make you a tax slave before you even begin to see any of your earned income? Are you just perfectly fine with trillions of dollars being wasted, lost, or embezzled without explanation? Can you point out to me Elon’s long history of blatant corruption and theft from customers/citizens that would lead you to believe he would use his current position to hurt everyday Americans?
I’ll take the risk of Elon abusing his power over the known evil that we’re currently living under, if I’m wrong then I’m wrong but that’s a risk I’m more than willing to take to see real change happen.

Elon Musk is fundamentally a very unserious person who loves power and adulation. I agree with the aims of DOGE but the tactics he chooses to employ are very heavy handed and calculated to produce maximum reaction. Maybe he truly does care about the American people and their government but it’s hard to say when he’s onstage wielding a chainsaw and sending out instructions for federal employees to justify their existence

What power is he abusing exactly? He’s doing exactly what was tasked to him by the president, he has exactly as much or as little authority as is delegated to him.
And yes, he’s very heavy handed and trying to produce maximum reaction, and guess what it’s working. If someone can’t handle answering a simple email detailing what their basic job function is how in the hell can their taxpayer funded paycheck be justified? The government is not a charity, and the idea that taxpayer funded jobs are cushy hammocks to hang out in and collect a paycheck and pension needs to end. If you’re a producer at your job you have nothing to worry about, if you’re not then you’re out, it’s that simple.

I used that term only because you invoked it first. “Abuse of power” is a strong label that I don’t necessarily think applies to Musk but there is a very really and valid question of the constitutionality of his position.
The appointments clause and Scalia’s later opinion on it could very well apply to his role. Whether he is an Officer of the United States who wields broad power under US law is a question for the SCOTUS but if he is, he has to be confirmed by the Senate. If he’s not, he has to be out after 130 days.
I also found it very entertaining that members of Trump’s own cabinet and various heads of departments basically told their employees to ignore the email

I've never worked anywhere that didn't require every key employee to understand what they were expected to accomplish as a function of their continued employment.

Monday- Woke up around 10:30am, logged into computer to show that I was "working".
Watched The View, then a couple hours of MSNBC. Went on X to comment on everything the evil Trump is doing.
Lunchtime I ordered Door dash so my fat ass didn't have to cook. Then took a 2 hour nap to recharge after my exhausting morning. More MSNBC, and then posting memes about Trump destroying democracy. Took a xanax to help with my anxiety and depression. Then more social media posts about that no one elected Elon Musk.
Logged off my computer at 3pm, needed some time for myself.

In general I fear a government where checks and balances are being eliminated and the ultra wealthy are pulling all the strings to grab at power.
Musk bought a social media company and changed the algorithm to help trump get elected and now has access to seemingly all of trump’s power and is using his platform to enrich himself (see Ukrainian minerals)
It’s the most brazen conflict of interest I’ve seen and I’m scared of it.
People that wealthy don’t get there by being moral. There is nothing moral about hoarding that much wealth. I don’t this direction will fix the problems that the Democratic Party failed address.
