Has anyone ever been this loyal to a brand? I mean, Travis has been on a Suzuki since his mini days till now and even without being a factory rider anymore. Barry Cartsen was probably just a loyal till a year or so ago when he started riding Kawis. But other than Travis, what other veteran pros have been on the same brand since mini days?

Not to mention he's stuck riding an old bike because they won't make him a new 2-stroke.

Yeah, you could say Dungey and Hill as well. I was more talking about seasoned vets that have been around for a while though.

From what Ive seen on the 'Net, Zook is still making RM250s, they are just not making them available to US dealers. Suzuki may still give Travis new, crated RM250s to use.

I was going to say Dubach, but he left Yamaha for a brief minute. Started on one in 1978, and has been riding them for over 20 years.

I think it's great. A little loyalty wouldn't hurt the majority of riders. Or factories.

The Dr. has been super long time loyal to Yamaha, O'neal, and Shoei. I thought the legend was that Dubach raced the same 1981 RM125 for 3 seasons before going back to Yamaha's.

Roger has always said whenever Travis wanted to comeback and race there would always be a bike waiting for him under the tent

Suzuki aligning themselves with Travis for the long run has far out sold brands (# of units) associated with a rider-regardless of bike performance, ie: RC, Stewart, Reed, RV, Alessi etc. McGrath is probably second with Honda & Yamaha.
I'd like to see the numbers of units sold by Yamaha when they had Glover, Hannah & Burgett, they're numbers sold then were through the roof.

the very last batch we are told of RM125's and 250's are coming out of Japan about now, they are still K8 models (2008) we have a bunch ordered but it will be a sad day when we sell the last ones, same as it was when we sold the last of the KX125's and 250's,

I want to say Henry. Even though he rode Honda's in the 125's. He's been really loyal to Yamaha since. Even after 3 (I think) major accidents on them.

One of my riding buddies actually rides suzuki's because that's what TP rides, no bullshit! If Travis rode for Orion pit bikes then he would buy one too!

Yes he did...we sold them used at our shop he kept coming in and asking the owner for help ....just help with the cost of bikes right after his foirst bronze medal in X and the owner flat told him NO and didnt want to associate with MX when it was blowing up he wanted to put Long Beach Motorsports all over his bikes for just a little help and got denied.
He came in a lot and since he couldn't get any help so I used to sell him parts and acc under my employee discount to help him out since it was 10% above cost ....now look at him. LOL
