Absolutely.... Reynard was even more hyped than RC was.

Only point was , early on the 250, nobody thought he's be what he turned into.

The talk before 01 sx was MC vs DV, with RC winning some races.

Deggan gets a lot of flack.  He's won indoors and out,  sx is just taking more time.

That's fair. He had a huge jump in form from futures, it could happen again. He seems to have the RC work ethic. Does he have the resolve? Time will tell.

Poor Reynard. What could have been.

They did is what I meant. Who do they use now if any? I don't even know, but I highly doubt it involves actual targeted blood testing.

They use Aegis Sciences Corp

Watching with interest to see if Deegz is AS dominant outdoors this summer.

How long did it take eli to win a national title?

Not really fair to look at what they became later,  but give deegan crap this early in his career.

I remember reading the online race reports when RC went pro with extremely heightened interest. There was huge expectation from day 1 for him to clean up. He was the guy. He was turning faster lap times on superminis than the amateur nats pro classes.

Deegan gets flack because of the way he acts and things he says. He has very incredulous attitude. He is never wrong, everyone else is. Reminds me of a few other people too.

Well I think you can argue he’s surpassed the original “believe th hype” guy 😎.

He a great rider and will do just fine - the generational talent piece is unknown.

What is interesting to me is the grit part - seems like most of the grittiest US guys came from seemingly nothing- rode crap minis and coached by parents.

Deegs has had literally everything possible thrown at him to become a winner. He should have breezed through 250s.

I think it will be very interesting to see how he deals with the hardships coming in the 450 class.  It’s def not going to be a walk in the park and add in abunch of guys that would like to “initiate “ him into the big boy club - should be fun to watch.

Personally I think the 250 ship has sailed if you don’t win it in the first couple of years you kind of loose the hype IMO.

If he wins this year he is on the same pace as Jett. Jett got beat by Colt Nichols in his 2nd year, won in his third.

He looked better in his third year than Deegan has so far, though

Big difference though, Jett started riding SX for the first time in his life in late 2019, while Deegan was on SX tracks since he's been a little kid. Also, since Jett started his 3rd year, he never missed the podium and had around 80% win rate in his 3rd and 4th year.

Deegan absolutely matches Jetts stats and timeline outdoors. SX? Not so much.

He rides on the back tire and likes a light front feel. That tends to look over aggressive at times. As far as the star bike claim imo it’s a stupid rule that stunts technology growth. Challenge an illegal bike I’m ok with that., claim a bike…..BS imo.

All good here…

Obviously you have never funded your kids racing program. The spirit of the rule is to keep AMATURE racing affordable. Parents want affordable and fair racing. Deegan was racing a 60k bike against other kids on clapped out 5k bikes. Star Yamaha would/should have learned a lesson.

Please explain how having a claiming rule "stunts technology growth" . In quotation because of your lousy grammar. try stunts technological growth-which is laughable. Most grass roots racing sports have a claiming rule to discourage exactly what Star did.

He's going to smash everyone. Hymas is a wildcard. We saw his speed at times last summer. Vialle too. The second year a GP rider does the Nationals, they are usually drastically better.

This old timer comes into every thread about Haiden and makes the same joke, talks to himself about how he’s not actually a fan and how he just thinks it’s funny that people get mad. It’s like okay grandpa let’s get you to bed.

The real question is can he beat Max at the E/W?  That’s a lot of humble pie if not.

Who was racing a clapped out $5k bike at Lorettas?

My favorite part is when we get berated each week after the race for our stupid opinions and how we are all wrong for watching something so horrible as a supercross race on tv.  Every. fucking. week.

My favorite part is that EVERYONE else is always the problem and not him.

My 2nd favorite part is how he runs his mouth about how weak the new generation is yet he's the one who isn't even man enough to engage with someone online that disagrees with him.

My 3rd favorite part is when he posts pictures of 3" of air on his Adventure bike to prove how hardcore he is.

After telling everyone (no one cares) that he isn't watching anymore, before continuing to watch.

Hmmmm idk, lots of Jett talk last year about how amazing it was that he was beating the veterans in the class who have “more experience”. Just trying to figure out where the goalposts currently sit, they tend to move

The kid looks like he’s pushing too hard at times. He’s just needs to relax and do his thing and he’ll be fine. I’m not entirely sure I understand what “overriding the track” means but I think that may be the expression I’m looking for.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say technology doesn't grow from LL's for bike development. Just my hunch.

I heard on a podcast he found some new settings over the break and he should be better. I hope so, I think he needs to be better to win this title. If it wasn’t for Juju giving gifts he would be worse off.

I still can't wait to see if he can win one this weekend. His starts have been mediocre at best and I'm waiting to see that get rectified and then judge.

Apples to oranges. Jett was beating veterans (read 450 SX champions and multiple race winners) in the 450 class, not sandbaggers and zimmer framers in the 250 class.
