Pulpmx has given off the impression that Kawi has the final say, not PC.

Kawi has to be pissed that they have ZERO pipeline of viable 450 prospects and it's been this way since even before crasharulo. Kitchens was poached (or run off by DEEGS) and doesn't count.

Name a team that has a viable pipeline?

Yamaha - Justin Cooper is the only guy that has somewhat successfully moved up under there program

KTM / husky/ GG no one is a lock to be a 450 superstar under their tent

Honda - they probably don’t need a 450 rider for 2-3 years but is hymas or Shimoda a lock?

Triumph - Forkner, Jordon smith are not exactly shoe ins.

Yamaha brought Webb, Plessinger and Cooper from amateur to 250 champ to 450 class. They have Deegan and Davies in the queue.

Honda brought Canard, Barcia, Tomac, Sexton and Jett from amateur to 250 champ to 450 class. They have Hymas in the queue.

Those programs do seem to value a succession plan.

You can’t say Kawi isn’t trying they have a huge 250 team.  They obviously value having up and coming riders. But there has been a log jam in there 450 program since Tomac joined the team. Outside of the Lawrence’s how many 250 riders have moved up that would supplant who Kawi has had on their 450?

My overall point in the pipeline is there are few if any 250 riders currently that are viewed as shoe in competitors in the 450 class. However in the next 2-3 years there is going to be an exodus of talent in the 450 class and some of the 250 class will move up. And some of them will be competitive because the class only has 22 riders and when webb, Tomac, barcia, JA, Roczen, Malcolm, etc move on someone has to finish in those spots.

Side note: how bad was that Yamaha team before star took over

That's fair but kawi has had a drought the longest and fallen the hardest. Could be some boring years ahead no doubt about it

I’d say PC Kawi has had the biggest drought/fallen hardest because they were so dominant. Kawi as a brand though has had a great run since the late 90’s from Emig, Ricky, Stew, Villopoto, Tomac with some regionals sprinkled along the way

For Mcadoo that’s little to no problem, for him that’s like going on a walk with an untied shoe

I agree with you, Kawi is trying but the backup in the 450 class means not enough seats.  You both need to be a top 250 rider and there needs to be a vacant 450 seat for you to have the chance and it just hasn’t panned not lined up for PC lately.

They took AC from am to 250 champ to 450, and clearly that was the plan with Forkner but it just hasn’t panned out. They also took Savatgy from 250 title contender to 450 rider, even if he was just a seat warmer for AC. They even took Bowers from AX champ to 250 race winner to 450 factory fill in, so it sends they place some sort of value on Kawi loyalty.

The only “curse” for Mitch is having MacAdoo. Has he ever completed a full season without crashing? I like Forkner but same thing. Kitchen, Hammacker, and the others cancel out any “curse”. Kitchen got flat out lucky.

First of all, I sincerely hope that McAdoo is okay. With that said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If you continue to hire riders that are the antithesis of reliable, then this is what you’ll always get

It’s hard to like Mcadoo. He gives these over the top thank you speeches and then proceeds to always ride over his head. Dude literally can’t just settle into a pace. That said, I hope he isn’t seriously injured.

Yeah time for his loved one to pull him aside and have a talk with him. How many off these can he have before he doesn't walk away from one. These aren't aberrations, they're the norm

Pffffftt....

All this nonsense about a curse... like anyone really believes that nonsense. 🙄

In REAL PC news, Mitch announced a new Team Manager in an effort to get the ship righted -

Is Pierce a crasher like McAdoo and Hammaker? The last 2 seriously make a couple of races a year.

So has anyone considered the fact that the 250s are basically throwing down the same lap times as a 450 - do all the same jumps - with less experienced ( for the most part ) riders.  Hell same for futures or whatever they call it.  Maybe time to seriously consider slowing down the JR class a bit.

someone remind me - did the 125 class have this many gnarly injuries?  I don’t remember it being that way but that was a while back.

PC has hired riders with history of being injured

Most 125 guys weren’t even clearing the triples in the mains. If you could nail the triple every lap you were basically on the podium.

Anyone know what Hammaker's deal was yesterday in the main?  He was fast all morning! Pole 2nd fastest - just a fraction off Levi.  Then in his heat he got 3rd.  Then in the main he had an OK start alongside the other PC guys  it looked like and then he faded to 17th and seemed like he gave up.  Hope he didn't re-injure himself.

They need to get rid of all these”can’t finish a season “ guys. Keep Levi and young Drew and bring in new riders, young riders and stop trying to work with speed because you can’t work with speed when it comes with the cost of crashing out all the time

The reason he’s able to keep the can’t finish the season guys is when they aren’t hurt, they are getting podiums and even wins at times, that’s why he kept forkner so long, gets hurt, but always wins when he comes back.

And treat his guys like Star does. If you don't produce after a couple years, injuries or not, they get cut loose
