If Trump really gets this done, it will be a big win for the world. I hope Ukraine gets to keep their original borders and gets an ass load of money from Russia to start rebuilding what they destroyed.

The biggest problem I see is that both Trump and Putin have enormous egos and they cannot be seen as weak. This means the odds that they come to an agreement that makes them both look like alpha males is slim to none.
My guess is that, sadly, negotiations will fail, and the administration will slowly give less attention to it and distract people with other craziness, allowing Putin to gain the upper hand and roll over the country. And then probably move on to the next.

Putin knows two things about Trump...
1. He know that Trump wants nothing more than to be considered "impressive" by people like himself.
2. He knows that Trump doesn't earn respect, he "buys it".
Therefore, Putin will ask Trump for something (here's your chance to impress me), Trump will give it to him (because he wants to appear impressive), and then Putin will do whatever the fuck he wants because he has zero respect for people he can play as easily as he's playing Trump.

Biden had 4 years to make a move, and didnt. Trump is making headway within 2 weeks.
I haven’t seen too many details, but there’s no shortage of speculation from any and all sources.
What will be interesting to see/hear is whether Trump is ‘negotiating’ with Putin/Russia unilaterally, without Ukraine even really involved. That would be somewhat similar to the negotiations over Afghanistan with the Trump administration negotiating with the Taliban and excluding the actual government of Afghanistan.
From what I've seen, boundary lines frozen where they are with Eastern Ukraine becoming Russian land, they'll probably make Ukraine give Kursk back to Russia. Guaranteed no ascension to NATO, no NATO intervention, $500 billion in rare earth metals given to the US from Ukraine, trump likely to return seized Russian assets. Guaranteed no US troops on the ground in Ukraine, probably no security guarantee although the last one turned out to be worthless.
Trump says he will meet with Putin in Saudi Arabia with Bin Salman to work out the deal, nothing good will ever come out of a meeting with those 3.
Ukraine's only hope is to become part of the EU to have any kind of protection from the dirty Russians.
That’s certainly not much of a ‘deal’ Ukraine. I suppose the only reason they would get behind it is if the US stopped any and all support of Ukraine defending themselves and their countrymen. A similar ‘guess’ called for the European countries in NATO to repay over $3T in reparations to Russia. Seemed a bit odd to me but it was attributed to a White House source, so you never can tell.
Get off Trump's D. He's made absolutely no headway. He's been busy attacking allies and demonstrating his verbal diarrhea skills to the press.
Alot of pressure on Trump. If the war doesn't end, his legacy will be his failure to stop it, after campaigning on ending the war in 1 day, which most of his voters believed because they believe everything he says. The next couple weeks will play a major part in whether his presidency is a success.
