There has always been a few riders who are super talented and quite possibly the best guy out there in a certain aspect (Mookie whoops, Hill first to hit jumps) but for some reason can't get over the hump for his first win. Well after Tampa where Malcolm not only won but won by passing the best guys can he do it again?
Poll
I have been wondering the same thing. Is he at least a top 5 guy now?
I think he will win a race or two, but you saw what needed to happen for him to get in the lead...
Said this in another thread. Love Malcolm, would be so cool to see him win a title. If we're being honest, he has a propensity for crashing often. I wish that weren't the case.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say he wins two more this year.

Would love to see Mookie running back up front on a consistent basis / title threat.
Mookie is the man and rode great. Ran down Chase and ran away with it. But If Jett and Eli were both healthy no way he gets a win. Just my thoughts.
I'm excited to see what he can do now that he knows and believes he can win. Title threat? Likely not. Threat for more wins? I hope so!
If he can stay off the ground he has the speed to get it done.
A confident Malcolm is a threat to win every weekend and thats FREAKING awesome! The more riders in contention for a win the better especially with the injuries we just had. Now is his time, go Malcolm!
He finished 3rd overall in 2022:
Put 15 Monster sized whoops at every round and he wins out.
No no one knows. It depends on how much confidence he has. He has the speed.
back in 2010? His first year in 250s i said on this forum he would never win a race. A few years later he won a title 14? I ate crow. A couple years back it seemed inevitable he was gonna win some races. Then a slump. I would of bet my net worth he wasn't gonna ever win a 450 sx. His speed last Saturday was incredible. I ate crow again. I hope he wins more races. Anderson.Webb.Sexton . Roczen will make it difficult but I will never have to eat crow again!
That happened because Sexton KNEW he couldn't stop Mookie in the whoops. He heard him coming, lost focus, and ate it. Webb couldn't catch Mookie and Webb was flying up through the pack as well. IF Mookie can be consistent over the last rounds, plus win 3-4, I think he has a legit shot at the title. I don't know who I'd rather have win - Webb, Kenny, or Mookie. Bummer we lost our top 2, but there's lots of racing left. Let the best man win.
If that same Mookie shows up he can beat anyone. It wasn't just the whoops- He was hauling!
I'm a huge Mookie fan, and I'd love to think he has the consistency to put together a championship...but I'm afraid Tampa, with the huge whoop sections was a "Mookie Track". BUT...he's seen a clear track now, and finally has a taste of the top box, and knows he's officially a threat...and that could prove me and the rest of the doubters wrong.
Hope I'm wrong.
Glad he got a taste of winning but you’re delusional if you think he will begin winning now unless there’s a depleted field again.
Update: There's a depleted field again.
Pit Row
lol Yes, that’s why I put that caveat there.
Coop, Anderson and Chase were all there and still in the race- Yes it's a little depleted but there's still all time fast guys racing.
I'm not talking about during the race... Jett is out, Eli is out, Hunter is out... etc. I love Mookie and would love to see him win more, but I don't think it's going to happen. I want it to happen.
well no one is delusional I guess because the field is depleted.
Yes, that’s why I put that caveat there.
I believe he was 8th on the first lap and proceeded to pass JCoop, Webb, Anderson, Roczen, and Chase on his way to the front. Does he win the Championship, not likely but I would bet he wins more races now that he knows he can. He looks like he did in 2022 when he kept it off the ground and had the speed to always move forward in a race.
Confidence is dangerous. I guess we will see!!!
If the whoops are actually whoops, and acts like a seperator he can win again for sure.
He wasn’t just fast in the whoops. Look at how the way he cut under Anderson for the pass. Crazy corner speed. I doubt he will take the title but damnit I hope he does.
.....or we end up with yet another injured top guy.
Yeah, what round was it where he broke his femur blitzing 15 whoops?
He's the same as Plessinger or Barcia now. Capable of winning if he's on it that night, but we're probably only going to see that level a few times per year. Still a great step up for him after 2023-2024.
I'm definitely hoping he can ride this momentum into more podiums and maybe another win.
