For all the bragging, fake bravado, bullying, social media speculation, industry bantering / ass kissing is it time to say Deegan has been underwhelming so far? My Gosh we had video after video, post after post telling us he is “Rivals’ with the current 450 SX champ….

Yet he isn’t even dominating his regional feeder SX series. Rarely the fastest qualifier, and in track section break downs only fastest in 1 or 2 of the typical 8-10 sections of an SX track. On pure speed alone Joe, JuJu, Smith all seem to have him covered. Not to forget his coast (West) is seriously less stacked than the East, Joe is hurt, and Levi got sick, PC Team pounded with inuries anyway so it could be far worse. Yes he still might win the title but even then it's going down to the last race.......

No offense but he looks like a normal fast 250 regional SX serries guy w/A LOT of Monster Energy sponsorship and marketing. Mind you this is his 3rd full season. He isn’t a rookie anymore, but a series veteran.

Couldn’t handle a week of him not racing or being in the top 5 threads?

He’ll be back in Arlington don’t worry

Technically, at this moment,  Deegan is a better rider than Jett

Mookie just showed us how competitive the 450 class is regardless of talent.

Illustrated by how long it took him to win a 450 main.

Hint: 250 riders should NEVER compare themselves to successful 450 class riders. It’s a different world.

I agree. Outdoors I feel like he is a lot better than the other guys but in Supercross he has yet to prove all the shit he talks. Im not a fan of all the shit talk but what do I know, He is a 18-year-old millionaire living his dream and I'm typing this from my office job so whatever.

lets see how he returns from his break.  he did get a serving of humble pie so far this season but I bet if you took a poll most people still expect him to win the West title.  Will be interesting to see who stepped up their game outdoors to hang with him.

I'm cool with a rider being cocky, talking shit, and messing with heads...if you can back it up. So far, Deegs isn't exactly doing that.

Which is ironic seeing as he probably has been riding a SX track for longer than any of them(maybe not the grandpas of the class) but he certainly started riding SX before the others age wise.

Holy smokes, you people are obsessed with Deegan and can’t go a week without talking about him. And this is coming from a Deegan fan…

But there’s a difference between practicing supercross and racing it, he didn’t really start racing it until he did the futures on a supermini, and that was only a handful of races out of the year. The amatuer kids race motocross mainly their whole amatuer career, so everyone is really good at mx. I also think the star bike works better in mx because of the starts being ripped deep and the ruts and so on.

In my opinion, it looks like he’s overriding the tracks. A2 looked better. Hes gotta get starts though and if he doesn’t he needs to let things come to him rather than trying too hard. Sometimes you need to slow down to go faster. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t look better when we come back west.

And none of this is to take away from Davies, Juju or Jordan because those guys look really good this year.

He's proven himself outdoors I'd say, but indoors he still has a lot of work to do be fore he can even be put into the same sentence as his self-proclaimed rival; Jett. Underwhelming? Yes.

Hes reminding me of RC in his early years. Wild Animal outdoors ie no cage.  Wild Animal indoors in a cage. Once he figures out how to adapt that wild animal to fit a supercross track..Look out. Kinda like RC.

Except RC dominated 125 Supercross. His Supercross woes didn't start until he moved up.

actually he crashed his brains out his rookie year. Deegans rookie year was much better by comparison. So far RC has the better sophomore year but if Deegan wins the title i would say its pretty even.

Didn’t RC sweep in his 2nd year?

I stand corrected about his first year in 125 SX.  RC definitely did a lot of crashing. I disagree about them being "pretty even" though.  RC won out in 98  Deegan isn't even close to that.

Direct quote from him, “I’m only riding around at 75% of my real speed and everyone knows all the fast guys are out east, so who really knows where I stand.”

My brother, simply ride at 100% and you won’t have threads like this popping up.

He's 3 points out of the Championship lead, if that's underwhelming, then OK he's underwhelming. let see how the seeies plays out.

It’s honestly a nice reminder that no matter what, supercross will always be unpredictable. EVERY media outlet had Deegan winning the 250 west, and said it wasn’t even gonna be close. Now it’s been 4 races of west and you could reasonably argue he hasn’t been the fastest at any given round

Honestly, Hymas looks faster, coming off of injury

I thought he would dominate sx, especially given the vast majority of upper tier riders were on the East coast. He hasn’t even been the fastest at some races.
