I love RC, but this is not NASCAR. That's a NASCAR term for how the car performs.  If affects the rider then "breathable air".  Just my rant.

Having clear track in front of you is a big deal

Agreed, but I didn't have to hear it like 15 times.  Just saying RC's Commentary seems to be from his last NASCAR adventures.  Always and always be an RC fan!!

I'm critical of RC but that's not worth critique IMO. Clean track in front of you is good to have.

Clean air was codeword for friese no longer blocking the racetrack, he probably just doesn't want a call from Mike Genova for talking critically about his fine rider.

While I agree 100% that clean air is a race car term, it 100% applies to moto and not having to avoid the roost.
I'll add finding the cushion to the mix, that's an applicable term as well.

While “clean air” is a racing term, aerodynamics play a small role in SX/MX, so the phrase doesn’t interpolate easily.  Ricky’s not doing himself any favors by repeatedly utter it, either.

Can you imagine being in the booth with Diffey when he rips one. I can't blame the guy for talking about clean air.

The clean air thing is like whatever for me. RC has so many worse cliches he rips off 20 times a broadcast, but seriously what was going on in the booth last night. They both lost their train of thought multiple times? They would start a sentence and then trail off in confusion? It was like two dimentia patients calling the race 😂

'Clean AIr'... no roost.

Euphemism for all motorsport applications, clear track with no obstacles, just like 'set sail' , nobody has sails, but there you go.

Also not aware that any riders , past or present, have ever carried a hammer, let alone dropped one, or done a lap riding anything that provides warmth in any given situation, while they are 'on a heater'.

I have a couple MTB buddies that were USMC pilots and flew Chinook -  they like clean air.

Clean air, as in no roost? Is it just 'trendy' to critique every word out of RC's mouth? Does it make all you intellectuals feel some kind of way? Granted, he doesn't speak the Queen's English, with a proper British accent. Nor is he 6 foot tall. With six-pack abs,,,, which obviously, some of you care about.... But he does have credibility. Even though he's bad to make predictions based on what he would do not considering that most of the guys can't or won't do what he would have done. I wonder if you lot wouldn't be happier with the 'but what if you're wrong?', flannel wearing young guy that never raced a motorcycle in his life, for an announcer. Bunch of pansies.

Wonder which SX OEM bike causes the most 'dirty air"?

Will the AMA institute mandatory changes to bikes to minimize aerodynamic issues?

It's already a thing in MotoGP 😉

FWIW, RC's comments bugged me too - but whatever...DB would have never said anything like this...

The USMC doesn't fly Chinooks, nor have they ever. The Chinook is an Army helicopter. CH-47. Marines flew the CH-46 Sea Knight, nicknamed the "Phrog". Fazed out and replaced by the MV-22 Osprey. They do look similar. 47 much larger than 46. That said, your comment about the air is correct.

There is no denying when Eli did not have clean air it allowed Jett to close the gap.  Same for Juju. RC say's enough stupid shit but this was not it.
