This is horrible for all involved. The videos online look crazy bulldozers out pushing cars out of the road running out of water what a mess! I hope everyone is able to get out in time and the first responders come out safe.

How far is this from LAX? I didn’t start any research on that but that can affect things.

15 min drive to the Palisades without traffic. 1 hour+ with traffic. 2 hours during rush hour.

Barring any change in wind direction, A1 should be fineIMG 4473

Anaheim and Los Angels are two different cities. LA is huge. There’s large portions of LA that don’t even have to evacuate.

They've added a new obstacle, fast food on the start straight!

The wind is blowing the smoke towards the ocean.

I'm still working in Santa Ana, have not smelled smoke once today.

Winds have now died down to 0. Clear skies as im watching planes come down at the John Wayne Airport Overhead.

Looks like forcast showing nothing but clear skies through the weekend.

High of 65 Saturday with the low of 50....

Ready to hear... "ARE YOU READY?!?!"(KORN).... as the gate drops for the first race of the Year!!!

Why did they not start January 6th? I thought it’s always been the first weekend in January? I’m dying over here!

I think them taking out the Northern California round had an impacted as well didn’t it? Either way, it sucks cuz we’ve always had my daughter for every Anaheim round and SD. Now with the schedule change, she falls under the other household on the race days 😭

Sweet. I've been chomping at the bit since ET3 raced last year in Australia.

We are flying into LAX in the morning and staying in Anaheim....and of course cannot get ahold of anyone at the airlines (that is not AI generated UGH) to see if there is an issue with LAX.

LAX is fine, might be a bumpy ride in from the wind though.

I’m currently a stones throw from the stadium in Anaheim. Slight smell of smoke in the air and the sky to the west is pretty gray. Other than that blue sky over the stadium

There’s been some delayed flights due to high winds but so far, LAX has been mostly unaffected by the wildfires.

Pretty apocalyptic views from the plane though.

I had a friend fly out of LAX yesterday and another one flying out this morning. Very smokey and hazy, but it doesn't sound like any delays or issues at least currently.

I’m flying in from Pittsburgh Saturday morning to go to the race. Always wanted to go to A1, never been to CA, and had some Delta miles. Flying a red eye right back to Pittsburgh after the race lmao. Hopefully the fires don’t affect my flights

I live in Morgantown where RacerX is so I go to High Point and I usually go to Indy SX every year. It’s gonna be cool to see a west coast event.

LAX is fine. As others have said might be bumpy with the wind but overall the fires are not affecting them. You can view live cancellations/delay information online. If anyone is connecting through Dallas today/tomorrow they might have a issues though. https://www.flightaware.com/live/cancelled

I’m at the stadium now, air is clear. We should be fine.

They postponed the Hockey Game (Flames at Kings - Which is a weird coincidence of team name)
They postponed the Basketball Game (Hornets at Lakers)
They have a plan to move the NFL game to Arizona (MNF Vikings at Rams) - Sofi is technically an open-air stadium with a cover over it.

Yes, the fires are far away from the stadium, but the smoke that we are breathing from it is much more toxic than a standard hills fire.
Sadly, this is solar panels, electric cars and every plastic you can imagine.

Now that we are considered such a big sport with betting, where do they draw the line for athletes, personnel and fans like the bigger sports are doing?

What is the backup plan? With a track being built on basically Tuesday-Thursday in the next city there is not much they can do but postpone it if they decide to do that and that is not usually the FELD way. See Lime gate San Diego 2018 and Postponed Oakland 2023.

I want the gate to drop as much as everyone else on Saturday.
But if it doesn't, I would totally understand it.

My wife is about 5 miles from the stadium currently and the visibility is the same as every standard day here in Anaheim. The wind is blowing the smoke from the fires to the west and Anaheim is south of the fires by about 30 miles. I would imagine there is some small amount of smoke in the air, but nothing to substantial. Kings & Lakers both play in the Crypto arena, 8 miles from the closest fire, with tons of evacuations and power outages, it makes total sense.

You people are loco, there are 10's of thousands of structures gone and many times more people on the street, including my sister.  The right thing to do is absolutely postpone the race so that all available resources can in the area can be used to help these people and try to contain the situation.

Curious if the water shortage will cause any impact. Bathrooms or track preparations. ....
