The Motonation AX team is using JGR parts on their 250s.

It’s funny…you can go out and ride allllllll the new cool-guy ultra-trick new bikes…including which-ever is your favorite or your “perceived” favorite. Most all do them are damn good and have some awesome features and even some new well hyped tech.

But, then…then…you go ride the Zook. The bike that some say isn’t changed since RC rode it…and it’s old or whatever is the latest yarn of negativity…but, you go ride it…into a rutted shitty-nasty turn…

And the Zook Rails it. On other parts of the track it may feel a little heavier…but, it alway seems to be tracking really, really well and it’s just so “easy” to ride…and have a good time while getting your laps in.

That’s has easy as it is to explain for me.

Is this the only sport in existence where participants proudly post about being lazy??

What happened to you guys??

This is what happened to them.

Funny how that can be taken several ways.....

I mean realistically, aren't all the orange bikes "broke" KTMs now?

And if you happen to be a stockholder, then you are a "Broke KTM" owner.....

There are still JGR parts directly available. You can buy most anything. I’ve got some factory engine mounts at home in fact.

How exactly does someone quantify a bike being 5x better?

All 5 areas were better on ktm.

1st one being: weight

2nd one being: handling

3rd one being: durability

4th one being: ergonomics

5th one being: symmetry

There you have it 5x better.

But I never said the rmz450 was bad…

I definitely would not call that bike goodied up. That’s a stock bike with some personal comforts.

Problem with modding it  to make it a “race bike” is you will have more in it than just switching to a model where race parts are actually available..

trust me I did my research on it when I owned it maybe it’s different now but at the time in order to use a Carillo A beam rod and high comp cp piston I was gonna have to swap the head to a 2017 rmz 450 head. It was a cluster.

One of the reasons I sold the bike. After adding everything up to purchase I would have had 1 and a half KTM msrps in the one suzuki…

If you look at the MXA shootout, the RMZ is actually not as bad as people think. The 450 motor makes great power. More than some others. Why do all that when a vortex from TD will do everything you could want and probably for $500?

I guess cause the OEM rod and piston material is not as durable as the brands mentioned above.

And again that’s why KTM uses CP pistons in their fourstrokes. And Pankl/Carillo rod.

There is no brand doing less for the sport or putting forth less effort into dirtbikes than Suzuki and somehow they still have Ken Roczen racing one of their outdated bikes with a kickstarter in 2025, lol.

Who is the person(s) responsible for this? They deserve a presidential medal, a lifetime achievement award, a Nobel prize... They must me the most keen business person on this planet, because I just do not see how they still have bikes out there in Professional SMX.

They have fallen a long way in recent years, but someone is keeping the US racing dream over alive at Suzuki... kudos to you.

Side note, wasn’t it Roczen who chose to run the kickstarter when he was on Honda when they switched to electric start?

Yes.

Recall it was initially an option for the 2017 CRF, but Roczen did also run the kickstarter outdoors a bit in 2018, when the kickstarter became standard equipment. Brayton also won Daytona SX that year with a kickstart retrofitted bike.

Active Suzuki rider and racer.
They don’t “need” to update but it is time.
either drop the price significantly and be the “cheap entry level” or update. in their defense, plenty of updated bikes have been shitters.
2009 Honda Or 2010/2011 Yamaha for example.
im hoping they want to play it safe during these weird economic times and come out swinging again soon like they did with RC.

New bike and sign someone like Deegs.

Dreaming. KX is my next buy or YZ just because of resale value. The RMZ is terrible for resale.

The problem with “cheap entry level” is all jap bikes are already there. If they get any cheaper it’s gonna be bad for everyone.

What I mean is trying to blow out their stock prior to releasing a new bike. It’s likely not going to happen anyway— so whatever.

if your buying a bike for resale value don't buy a kawi. they might be worse than a Suzuki.

I’m not buying for the resale. It’s simply a further strike against the RMZ. But Kawi has never had good resale. Weird but true

Finally showed up!  Now if we could just get Raining Yellow, Hillbilly, and Lenny back (etc.), this place would be a lot more fun Smile
