Investigators are probing whether an AirBnB was connected to the attack.

Bomb squad detectives were dispatched to a rental on Mandeville Street on Wednesday morning after firefighters put out flames at the rental, which investigators believe was rented out by the attacker, nola.com reported.

Dozens of people were reportedly evacuated from the area around the Airbnb, which is about 3 miles from Bourbon Street.

Improvised explosives were found in the killer's truck after he was killed in a shootout with police.

The FBI is investigating whether the suspected terrorist opened fire into the crowd of New Year's celebrants on Bourbon Street as he ruthlessly mowed them down with his truck, NBC reported.

Investigators are probing whether the killer used a rifle as he plowed his truck, which had Texas plates, into the crowd of unsuspecting partiers.

Here’s an interesting observation…

One of our new world FBI geniuses, Aletha Duncan, was recorded stating that “…this is not a terrorist event…” and, get this, she’s the SAIC and she starts out by making these genial statements…? Ok. Meanwhile, the mayor, Latoya Cantrell stated at the very same press-event,”1st of all, we do know that the city of New Orleans was impacted by a terrorist attack…it’s all still under investigation…” …it appears that the FBI has a political mission & the mayor was rolling with what they had on the ground and was stating what was obvious…? I’m guessing the FBI is making a statement based on what they can “prove” at the moment…? I’m thinking she (FBI-SAIC) shouldn’t make any such comments UNTIL she’s got a better understanding of the situation.
