I think ukrainians will be stabbed in a back by USA. It will not end the war. Russians might roll then, and it will be years of guerilla war.

Fffuck ukraine

No government anywhere at anytime has ever been a friend to the working man. Your elected and non elected government officials are here to fuck you over and exploit you as much as possible but keep you just well enough to go to work everyday. They will do the same to future generations.

Fuck the Russian government, fuck the Ukrainian government and fuck the American government…

Things will never be for the common man as long as the common man chooses to give away his personal responsibilities to government. And make no mistake, we are choosing to give ourselves away. A large part of the way we do this is by becoming consumers. Stop buying dirt bikes. Stop riding dirt bikes. Don’t buy that new truck. Don’t buy anything you can’t afford to buy with cash. Stop going out to eat. Stop eating their shit food. Make every meal at home from scratch. Grow a garden. Raise a pig. Stop spending money you don’t NEED to spend. Step back and think about the difference between needs and wants. Concentrate your efforts on needs and forget about your wants. It’s the moral thing to do.

You are jumping to conclusions instead of having a conversation.  My opinion, of not restricting how Ukraine defends, itself in no way means I think any American should be deployed there. Hoping the new admin can unfuck this before it’s too late.   Without sending Americans into harms way.

I’ve read a lot of pieces in the last month that seem to believe that the Russian economy is likely to crash and burn before Ukraine runs out of soldiers or money themselves, based on the Russian frozen assets that many nations are transferring to Ukraine. Hard to say if those analyses are correct or not right now, but not many believed that Ukraine could sustain any sort of real fight against Russia for going on 3 years back when the invasion occurred.

If so, and if we could keep American soldiers from directly involved, then it could be a brilliant plan to keep arming the Ukrainians but I agree with those that think that what we are doing isn’t really enough for Ukraine to win. I think that the reports of unmanned land based weapons being used by Ukraine is a big advantage for them with their smaller population and could be a huge difference maker over the next 12 months.

Ahh yes, I too would love to see a field in a foreign country filled with young American men trying to stuff their internal organs back into their torsos while crying for their mothers. This is our fight! Our sons must die to save these strangers! Slava!

Not by a damn sight .

Giving Ukraine the open opportunity to fight fire with fire would have been a good idea at the onset. Giving them the F16s at the onset, aggressive missile systems…all were offered by neighboring European countries & the USA shit it down…and dragged things out…

The Obama and Biden Administrations kept Ukraine from properly counterattacking in the beginning. Same goes for the way Obama let Vlad just take Crimea. We suck.

At least your point of focus matches your grievance. Like at the top of the page, fuck Ukraine, but why are our mistakes their fault? They've been wanting to let 'er rip for a while, but we're the ones that A) give them the stuff, and B.) put restraints on it. There's no reason to be angry with Ukraine, but there are reasons to be upset with Russia and the US.

Just because it’s military spending does not mean it doesn’t benefit our economy.   I am not saying I like the war, or like the fact that we are spending money, but we are sending older equipment and munitions and then paying our defense contractors, and the workers who work there to make more.  Those people then spend the money they are making to live.  It is injecting money into the economy, and keeping our military at readiness levels we all like.

We are sending large amounts of money to assist with training and the running of a functional government during a war, which is not a grant but a loan.  I do not see a Trump administration forgiving that loan.

I read somewhere 40% of the aid we send to Ukraine doesn't even go to defense at all, it's to pay for the running of their government. So far, for those not keeping track, it is OK or even good to kill Russians, Palestinians, or anybody else involved in any number of wars or genocides going on now like Sudan that our press doesn't bother to cover, but it is bad to kill Ukrainians, or Israelites. Death in our own country is dealt with indifference as well, neither good or bad.

A loan.... good one.

If you believe that a single penny of that loan will ever be paid back I got some ocean front property in Arizona for sale.

Question for Americans: As you see mass homelessness, mass drug addiction and continued rates of people not having access to basic healthcare in your own country - how do you support your government sending billions to a country you have nothing to do with culturally, linguistically or geographically?

What a country America is 😂😂

Ukraine aren't going to reverse the land losses they've taken. That ship sailed last year. All they can do right now is fight like fuck to hold what they can and hope that it drags out long enough for the Russians to start to feel some pain and look for a way out. That may be happening, and it may be that Trump can get something done but make no mistake, this could drag on for a few more years yet if there's no deal can be reached about the long-term.

No country has done more for the welfare of others than the USA. Of course, Ukraine is a waste of money. But then again, without the USA Navy, Australia would have been part of Japan during WW2, or part of communist China now. At least have very limited commercial sea lanes now. You should thank the Lord for the USA's generosity.

The $100B sent to Ukraine is an “appraised” value.  Kinda like a jeweler appraising a diamond. A $5K appraisal might be worth $2K. Lots of inflated numbers for depreciated equipment.  It’s still a lot of money, but barely a drop in the bucket when taken in totality.  Plus it’s a masters class for the DoD and learned in real-time.

Battle of Britain was over before you lot joined in, Germany's chance at invasion along with it. More likely most of Western Europe would have ended up speaking Russian over German. The role France played in the war for independence was far greater, their blockades were critical.

Oh and stop calling us all English ffs. the English are basically all German anyway! Wink

After 2 years of running the printing press to support an unlimited war chest they are still in a tight spot.

Obviously they need more of the same.

Still struggling to understand how a cross dressing TV star gained so much traction in a country that despises them.

It’s difficult to say what would/could have happened if the US hadn’t started aiding Britain in 1940, and officially implemented the Lend Lease program in early 1941. Had that not occurred, it’s plausible that the invasion of the Soviet Union be delayed and Hitler may have regrouped and concentrated on an attempt to conquer Britain. If they had been able to delay long enough and not had to try to conquer eastward for resources, they may very well have been able to develop weapons that we now know they were farther along with than we realized at the time.

Ultimately there’s no way to go back in time and play different scenarios that are absolutely conclusive, so all of the ‘what if’s’ that we talk about are some level of conjecture.
