Nearly all foods are processed to some degree and the current classification system (NOVA) is unable to predict health outcomes specifically relating to food processing. For example, some ultraprocessed foods can be health promoting, eg Greek yogurt and whey protein.

Removing dyes, preservatives, and non nutritive sweeteners without changing the dietary pattern would likely have no impact on health outcomes  based on available evidence.

Existing data shows that eating organic does not improve health outcomes compared to eating the same dietary pattern that’s not classified as organic. Organic foods use more pesticides on average than non organic, for example. There are also only ~13 food options approved for GMO in the US, with no connection to increased rates of disease (mostly decreased incidence of food insecurity). That’s not to say thet directly consuming pesticides is a good idea, but more to point out things are more complicated than they appear.

There are a variety of ways to eat a health promoting dietary pattern. Common themes include reducing intake of foods with added sugar and added sodium, increasing intake of fruit, veg, whole grains, and legumes, prioritizing lean protein, and eating mostly meals prepared at home. There is no singular historical human diet that is optimal for health or performance.

The modern obesity epidemic is mostly a function of the  environment, with calorie dense, highly palatable, foods being ubiquitous, easy to get, desirable, cheap, and not filling.

Supplementing with Tb500, bpc 157, hgh, avoiding “preservatives”, and/or working with scammers like Marek Health are unlikely to help improve health, recovery, or performance.

You don’t need a medical degree to know this stuff, true, but you do need expertise in the subject matter. Would avoid speaking on it without relevant expertise.

More misguided statements. You point at fiber but recent research indicates that it can do more harm than good. Are you going to bring up cholesterol next?

To say things like dyes, seed oils and HFCS ( you didn't mention but along the same lines) don't matter and don't cause harm is just being disingenuous or ignorant.

What expertise would I need to understand health issues are increasing rapidly along with obesity with the increase in harmful chemicals and processing?
We agree on supplementing! There is no magic pill that will fix a lifestyle.
Also I don’t know who marek health is but if they challenge your narrow minded views maybe I will look into it! With my limited expertise of course

Quite the contrary re:  evidence. When no evidence exists, you use biological plausibility,  potential risks vs benefits, and shared decision making to move forward.

Expertise is needed in public health, epidemiology, and nutrition to understand what’s happened over the last 50 years isn’t related to “cHeMiCals” (every food is made up of chemicals, as are you), or “processing.” The obesity epidemic started before this due to changes in the food environment. Some types of processing have been beneficial, others not so much depending on the resulting food and dietary pattern. Saying processing is universally bad or causal are inconsistent with the evidence.

I see that you’re interested in this topic. Rather than arguing with me, I would encourage you to seek out more information on this topic that is supported by robust evidence. I have personally published a lot on this topic, but you can certainly go elsewhere and you will find similar evidence-based information.

The research overwhelmingly shows a dietary pattern high in fiber improved health outcomes. Please provide evidence to support your claim it can do more harm than good.

Yes, high levels of atherogenic cholesterol are causal for heart disease in a dose dependent manner over time.  Evidence is overwhelmingly consistent on this, too.

Yes, seed oil consumption does not harm health when those oils are part of or within a health promoting dietary pattern. You cannot provide evidence to the contrary, as it does not exist.  Same thing with dyes. HFCS vs other types of added sugar are not better or worse. They all suck.

I think I’ve met my limit on responding to this thread. If people are curious where I stand on a topic and the relevant evidence, you can freely search online and find my work. It is cited appropriately to direct you to the primary literature if desired.

No need to hijack this thread any further. Best of luck to the OP.

There can’t be anymore robust evidence then 100s of years of healthy fit people versus the past 100 years of rapidly declining health?
Is expertise learned through personal research and personal experience invalid?
Thank you for pointing out that eating and promoting natural foods, avoiding processed foods and “cHeMiCaLs” is considered having my brain fall out.

People have unique experiences that are interesting anecdotes, but not really helpful for guiding decision making regarding health.

I am very into general fitness, marathon running and bodybuilding. I am noticing a very odd entangling of "back to our ancestral roots" dieting stuff. Almost like food and dietary lifestyle as a means to spiritual health - A strange overlap of health-spirituality and dieting in a lot of individuals. Do you see this in your practice? It's popular online obviously but trickling into my local area.

Also, politely disagree on seed oils. Aside from the disputable stuff, is the Omega-6 content not too high for healthy consumption? Genuine question, I'm not educated in this.

I had lingering tendinitis in my lower quad that wouldn’t seem to go away, I did bpc157 injections twice a day for two weeks and it went away and hasn’t been back. That was my experience with it, and it’s very possible it could have healed up on its own.

Right as i finished up with the injections I had a crash that left a huge gash/deep hole in my butt cheek (same side as my tendinitis) that should have been stitched. My gf cleaned the area and put butterfly bandages on it, the next day it was basically closed up. I have pictures and it looked like something that had been healing for days already. Again, it could be a complete coincidence and I have no way of knowing if the injections actually do anything at all, but I don’t think I’d mind trying them again. Other than I hate needles

Did you get injected at the hospital? And what is 157 ?  I had hundreds of injections the only ones that worked a little where epidurals at the hospital.  The 1,s injected at the injection clinic did nothing . Still on a payment plan tho. I,m almost 3 inches shorter to give ya an idea of back& neck.  Hip& leg is really f ed up bad too.   The inner shoulder blade all the way ovr to under arm pit . Is painful if I push a finger in a shock goes threw my fingers.  That’s 4 yrs of trying to figure out what’s going on.  It pumps my rt arm up on 2nd lap bad.  My bp is 118 ovr 62 regardless of stress level . Which is a lot daily , I just keep that relaxed a lot of heart attacks out here.

Yes, diet and eating practices are heavily influenced by socio-cultural and environmental influences. A good proportion of folks, often those who identify as health conscious,  connect eating practices to morality , if not outright religion.

Regarding “seed oils”, there is a lot of data on this showing no increased risk of disease and, in fact, a reduction in heart disease when replacing saturated fats with seed oils.  Omega 6 consumption is more related to the dietary pattern rather than something to be focused on in isolation.  Similar to seed oils, the most common sources of  n-6’s are in ultraprocessed foods with added sugar, sodium, and fat. Changing the dietary pattern reliably improves outcomes, whereas micromanaging n-6 intake does not. Replacing seed oils does nothing,  with some evidence showing harm.

The video posted above with Dr. Cook and Gary Brekka is not a good source of information, as both lack expertise and spread misinformation. They are popular, yes, but not helpful.

I can’t imagine being so entrenched in your medical education that you believe the seed oil industry has encouraged better health outcomes. It started as an industrial waste problem and then thanks to marketing, government corruption, and lobbying it is the cheapest shit to add to food.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Jordan is a shill/lobbyist. No one could be this ignorant to the negative side effects of additives to foods unless they are being paid to toe the company line. He has added absolutely no value or help to the OP who is having a tough time and has spent all of his time rigorously defending the establishment which as I’ve said earlier all you have to do is look around your local shopping centre of people to see what we are being told works, doesn’t work.

I advised him to steer clear of things that re likely to cause more harm than good, e.g. BPC 157, tb500, adding sodium to the diet, HGH, etc.

I also advised him to stick to a good diet and use exercise to aid in maintaining/improving fitness, as well as helping recovery to the extent that's possible.

Finally, I recommended against wasting time/effort avoiding seed oils or "chemicals". You (and two others) have taken issue with this and, despite responding many times, have yet to provide any supporting evidence for this recommendation. Rather, mostly misinformation being peddled as facts and  "trust me, bro". I do not think this is sufficient.

If you'd like to discuss this further, shoot me a DM. If not, that's cool too.

Not the answer your probably looking for but the only real long term answer is diet and lifestyle. There is no magic pill or silver bullet and the pep tides are no different. Eating organic pesticide and gmo free fruits and vegetables with grass fed and finished meats, proper hydration with mineral rich water and eating unpasteurised dairy while cutting out all the inflammatory toxins like preservatives, gmos, artificial sweeteners and processed foods. The body is amazingly resilient and heals itself once it is not bogged down trying to process nutrient deficient foods and toxins. I’ve been where you are, 20 years self employed in the construction industry, 2 broken backs, 3 knee reconstructions, broken wrist, thumb and arthritis living on anti inflammatories while suffering chronic digestive issues as a result. I’m 4 years into my journey and am feeling better at 37 then I did at 27. My riding is better, I can run around with the kids and can jump out of bed pain free. It is not a quick fix, it takes time and discipline but the results are far greater and will last a lifetime!

Is it possible to eat non GMO fruits or vegetables at this point? Humans have been selectively breading animals and plants for over 10,000 years...

I see your point, I buy heirloom seeds for my vege patches which haven’t been altered to be pest resistant and for increased yield. The commercial seeds are literally impregnated with glyphosate now so you are ingesting pesticides.

So if a seed has glyphosate in it, it propagates a yield that is also wholly contaminated? I’m afraid it doesn’t work that way.
Still, don’t buy them. I just think that’s not correct.

Don’t listen to that doctor, listen to all the overweight doctors profiting from people being sick. A patient cured is a customer lost!
You’ve painted your own corner in this thread no need to hide in the dms.

Again, since I’ve been doing this for so long, I am very familiar with the individuals in the YouTube video and common arguments made from grifters in the space. People are free to do what they want based on this information.

I will say that there’s some irony in people supporting the grifters and conspiracy theories, while accusing others of collusion to keep people sick. 😂

Glyphosate has the lowest toxicity of all herbicides extremely high LD50. Plants that have not been modified with a bacterial enzyme to make them resistant to glyphosate must use other, more toxic herbicides. It’s not “impregnated” in the seed and the alternative produces lower yield and uses more toxic herbicides generally speaking. Data on ingesting crops raised using glyphosate also show excellent safety data. This is one of the reasons organic, non-gmo foods use more pesticides on average than non organic, gmo food.

I don’t suffer fools, so you’ll have to provide some evidence for your claims if you’d like a further response. You and others (Jazzy) have had multiple opportunities to do so, but haven’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I see many guys in here who have had success with bpc-157. Used it with great results with tb500 for a severe AC shoulder separation and knee injuries. We've had similar threads on this before where someone told us all that it didn't work. I'm not getting into any back and forths on it again. If it's real, and there's a lot of fake peptides out there, it works

It’s is intertwined with the dna of the plant so it would be impossible for it not to have residue. If the bugs don’t want to eat it we shouldn’t either

So basically your come back is “Trust me bro, I’ve been doing this a long time”. Your the one that keeps coming back?

I’ve never mentioned an affiliation to any group for you to find it ironic to be called out while using more catch phrases of “conspiracy theories” or “grifters”.

Thanks for making my point for me, the gmo crops have glyphosate residues even if it is claimed to be the lowest toxicity level, you are ingesting glyphosate. You’ve also shown you don’t understand organics as the whole practice of certified organics or regenerative farming is not using pesticides on the crops hence the higher prices, it is a smaller yield and is more labour intensive then a traditional commercial crop but is residue free.
Its pretty simple, if the bugs don’t want to eat it we shouldn’t be eating it either.

And in full disclosure I don’t have a degree in agriculture to try to convince you of basic facts. I do own a 100 acre farm that we farm organically…

Out of curiosity, what crops do you farm?  Do you not use any pesticides at all?

I understand your line of reasoning but are you implying the glyphosate is multiplying?

So, if the seed is coated with one microgram of glyphosate, it produces fruit that is all equally contaminated? A little glyphosate in the seed makes for glyphosate in all of the fruit?

People have unique experiences that are interesting anecdotes, but not really helpful for guiding decision making regarding health.

Please do not take offense as I have no idea if you are a qualified doctor or one who kills patients.

65 years old and I need more than my 10 fingers to count the amount of family/friends who have died from incompetence in the medical field. I wouid read any advice you give and do the exact opposite. Absolutely ZERO faith in doctors/hospitals

When I got in shape about 6 years ago, I didn't stop eating "garbage"... I just started eating less food overall. I workout 4+ days a week. I feel great and my BP and cholesterol has been normal for 6 years straight now.

The only thing I've noticed is general inflammation and aching of old injuries when I go too far with sugar/desserts on occasion. That's what happens, go figure.

There's my advice... Don't eat a lot of sugar. Maybe don't drink. Things will ache less. Of course exercise and stretching are always a plus as well.

Too many people always looking for the next shortcut...

Not completely unrelated, but one supplement I can say forsure works for me is a multivitamin by controlled labs with a joint complex in it. I’ve been on and off it for 10 years and when I cheap out and don’t order more, my body just feels stiffer and aches more. I don’t think it will do anything for something serious, but for every day life it’s worth the $30ish a month. I must have ran out atleast 20-30 times over the years, and it’s noticeable when I don’t have it

We do mixed farming. We run cattle as well as planting out but it’s small scale. We plant mixed crops to suit the seasons and rotate plots as to not deplete the soil of nutrients and attract unwanted pests. We also mix in companion planting to boost and protect the crops. To be honest my wife is the expert on all things green I drive the tractor and do the heavy lifting.
