With age, I have grown tired of the "look everybody...our sport is so hard core and awesome!!!" thing. It's like a little kid seeking attention.
I always liked that moto was niche and those that knew, knew. It was a bit like skateboarding. "Don't skate if you don't relate" was a hashtag before there was such a thing as hashtags. That No-Fs-Given approach is what made skating cool, core, and gave it attitude. Sometimes I feel like moto is trying too hard. We have a Hollywood actor narrating a story about SX? Brolin played the main character in a skateboarding movie but I doubt the skate community would want him narrating a skate vid. Where's our moto-dignity man? Why does moto seem to seek approval/acceptance all the time?
I guess maybe the purpose of this movie is to help garner outside sponsorship. Money makes the world go 'round.
The longer preview is good, but there just isn’t any excuse for the worn out sportster sound track. It’s just a couple of seconds, and the rest was good, but FFS, that’s a really bad sign that maybe the entire movie is regular Hollywood garbage put together by non-moto people who don’t know anything about riding/racing.
Imagine a surf movie where they dubbed in a V8 waterski boat soundtrack when a surfer caught a wave. That’s the only thing I can think of that could be worse..
There’s still time to fix it..
Looks good.
Is there anything that some of you people won't piss and moan about? Lots of solid people involved in this film, starting with Paul Tablieb, the producer.

It doesn’t seem very character focussed which would be the draw for an audience outside the core crowd. This looks like another great outdoors but with a little more scope and lot less character. And TGO didn’t attract a new audience…
22 days away from A1 and they make their first post.
The clips look pretty darned good👍
In particular the rivalry clip. Love that.
I agree. What's with the V-twin engine sound? It pisses me off to no end when movies can't get the obvious sounds correct. They always choose a stock engine sound instead of the actual engine audio of the very machine they're filming. Like the Harley sounds they added to the Polaris snowmobiles in "The Tomorrow War".....makes my blood boil. Isn't someone from moto an advisor for this kind of stuff? We don't need to Disney up the footage. Its real racing. Not a fairy tale.

Watched Beverly Hills Cops 4 the other night...... They were in a Bentley that sounded like it had an open exhaust LOL
Not just dirt bikes anymore with dumb sounding exhaust.
Dude, don’t act you haven’t been around long enough to know the answer to your question. 🤣 The producer may be solid, but that sound cue was bush league. Trailers by nature have very little time to make an impression, and this one almost gets stuck in the gate.
I hope its good. Just depends if they cover the "TRUE" history of Supercross or will it be a stroke piece to help boost the sport. There were some areas, meaning the HISTORY of SX that have some dark spots and some feuds over who owned the name "Supercross", the fact it was sold a bunch of times over the years, the series started off with several different promoters in the early years with Goodwin, Thompson and the West family, not to mention the AMA and FIM involvement. There have been several attempts to have it taken over, (I think it was 1984, only a handful of events were AMA events and the rest INSPORT.
The Freestyle movie was good but they did leave out many chunks of the history and pieces that should have been included.
Could be FLUFF piece, could be a good movie if its true to the REAL story of what happened.
The hollywood liberal narration should really dumb it down for the masses
The title, tread pattern and mud splatter clip-art tell us everything we need to know..
This looks cool to me! I'm not going to squabble about a few inconsequential details. Anything that conveys the drama and intensity of Supercross is good by me.
Didn't this happen Thursday? Anyone see it, any feedback?
Pit Row
It sure would be nice to know what theaters are showing this. AMC claims they started showing this 15 Jan 25, but don't have it listed for any of their theaters. The trailer they are showing right now, on the San Diego SX, says it's suppose to start airing 20 Jan. Then there's a Facebook page showing the posted and stating the airings start 24 Jan. Hopefully somebody will be posting more/correct info soon.
Saw the ads for this tonight. Looks interesting. Anyone seen it?
Check out this web page for show dates and locations, https://www.paydirtthemovie.com/screenings I'm planning to go see it next month in San Antonio.
I can't believe there are no showings in Georgia. With so many teams, riders and training facilities in Georgia you would think there would be playing somewhere there.
I saw it last week at the movies in Temecula. I thought it was good. It touched on a lot of aspects of the sport that I was already very familiar with from over the years, but it helped me to get a little further in-depth with their back stories.
It definitely bounced around quite a bit from topic to topic and I’m not sure that it’s intent is to pull in a new audience for Supercross. I feel it’s more directed at true fans of the sport.
And call me easily pleased, but dubbing in an incorrect motorcycle sound for a couple of seconds didn’t bother me one bit!😂
Recommended.
Just give me the great outdoors and make it about sx. That’s all I want. Those were the best!
Troy the creator of TGO just made this. so your wish comes true

hopefully more Ep to come
Omg thanks!
Yep, this was great. Troy is the GOAT of moto commentary
My local theater was showing it last night so my friend and I checked it out. It was a Wednesday night and there were only 9 tickets sold for it. Wasn’t really promoted at all.
Movie was good if you are interested in the history of not just Supercross but also American motocross in general. After reading the description I kind of thought it would focus on the Mike Goodwin murdering Mickey Thompson situation but it was a very small part of the movie. I liked it but my friend said it was too long.
Anybody else see it in this recent release?
I thought it was pretty good! Was a little hard to understand what the whole theme or "point" of it was at first, but I ended up liking how they took one element of supercross like injuries or rivalries and then profiled someone to make an example out of it. There were a few things I honestly didn't know and learned after watching it.
Yeah the part on Button’s recovery was really cool. RC’s family stuff and Meanie Jeanie was great as well. Definitely learned some history that I didn’t know.
Certainly didn’t paint Emig in a very good light. It also made me love Bob Hannah even more. That dude is aggressive and angry!
