At the end of the day, if insurance companies are paying out more in losses than they are taking in in premiums, bad things are going to happen. And it’s ugly right now.  Summer valid, but some are ridiculous. For example, kids steals an ATV wrecks the atv and hurts himself and sues and wins because they shouldn’t have left the key in the Atv where he could steal it. Dumbass liberal judges and juries are putting us in this position. No two wheel motorsports activity in Ireland for the last year because no one can get insurance anymore.

Any proof as to that actually happening?  I doubt any of them are losing money.  More than likely, they just aren't making as much as planned.

Gavin might suck, but he never sued a track to the best of my knowledge.

Doesn’t matter. He is on a slow roll to get your dirt bike, he’s already nixed gasoline powered lawn equipment.

he’ll put the squeeze, already has, on public riding areas making it harder and harder in every way in hopes people will just give up.  Dude is killing this beautiful state!

We are only seeing the start of the insurance challenges that our beloved sport could have in the not so distant future....

The insurance crisis that started in CA (fires) and FL (storms) due to claims and state governance is spilling into other states like NY and TX, etc. It is only a matter of time until it spills into MX, which is a real liability risk, and the cost to insure for our local tracks becomes prohibitively expensive.

I hope it doesnt happen and that I am wrong, but I am worried in 3-5 years local promoters / track owners could see rates skyrocket to absurd rates, or coverage just goes away altogether.

Our homeowners insurance here in California was through State Farm - had a policy with them since 1998, no claims ever. Premium was ~$7500. In January of 2023, State Farm dropped us - we were in an area they deemed a fire zone - and the only policy I could get was $23,500.  There was one option through the State last resort fund for $15k, but the coverage was garbage.

Yup, our insurance more then tripled overnight just last winter. It is happening.

You're not wrong unfortunately.

Insurance is gonna be the end of our sport, probably sooner than most of us realize.

Insurance is gonna be the end of everything..... you have to pay but they never want to do their part. I haven't had my license in 3 years but I have to insure both my vehicles JUST to get them registered....on vehicles I'm technically not allowed to drive

Whole damn thing pisses me off. However, I still have some optimism about LACR and Lake Elsinore in the near(ish) future.

Bro media!

What is the point of me starting shit with my friend on his show? I can't change anything that has happened here. I really don't get what is being asked of me here.

Your right, wasn’t fair of me to ask. Totally understand your answer and know if you did ask we would just get some canned response. Saying that, would be interesting to know his off the record thoughts of his long time sponsor, someone he plugs throughout the show, not just during the sponsor read, suing a track for having a bermed corner.

I'm not saying you should or asking anything.

I am saying this is a prime example of bro media in action.

Does anyone think we will get a Rental reaction pod to track closures on Pulp soon?  Seems like big news right now, no?.  Handle bar race in Paris gets a pod.

Id put it at less than 1% chance.

Year round riding here in TX with plenty of stable tracks with good dirt - but I know the weather is more important 🤪

Zoom out people. This problem is happening everywhere. A co-workers brother just got a big settlement after being in an auto accident. He was 100% fine but decided to sue. Money.

Where has integrity gone?

I blame the parents.

Does Vital plan to continue to advertise with X-Brand?

Parents have some responsibility and influence but it is ultimately up to us as an individual to use our agency..

Let’s not forget that a big part of this mess is the greedy lawyers.

I’m not the one that suggested this nor am I suggesting it has to be said on air. However, at least for myself, I want my friends to be good people that have ethics and standards. If I had a friend that was accepting money and promoting eks I would call them out on that as BS. What rich did was absolutely unacceptable. I don’t care if lacr had a berm next to a 3,000’ cliff. We know the risk we take when riding, we control the throttle and how hard we push. If you think that section is scary enough to make mention of it, leave, or at the very least just back it down there to make sure you’re absolutely safe. Lacr didn’t make him ride, he chose to. His son could’ve had the same situation happen before a steep lip and he coulda launched himself to injury there just as easy. Should we have tracks with no jumps too? Filing suite against a track for your own error is absolutely unacceptable and fucks over the entire sport we love.

So I think we’re all rightly livid and we don’t want someone that did something so unspeakable to ever be mentioned or promoted again, and if Steve was my friend I’d tell him as much. I would hope that this site has the moral standards to not accept anything from them or ever promote them as well. We are a small community of riders, we don’t stab each other in the back. I wouldn’t accept $10,000,000 if it means a track closed and my people loose a spot to ride.
