As someone who has used this brand of goggles for nearly 10 years, it seems the brand owners lawsuit is why the track's insurance isn't being renewed. By continuing to purchase these goggles, I might be indirectly supporting track closures. I just want to confirm if I’m understanding this correctly and give the company the benefit of the doubt before I decide to move on from this brand and look for one that actively supports the sport.
And open pipes.
There is no doubt that the Taylor (X-Brand) lawsuit has affected this outcome.
What about a club situation? Everyone who rides has to become a member, cant sue yourself? Florida home Ins. Is brutal also, I own 2 homes in south Florida, currently about 12k a year for basic coverage with very high deductibles to keep premiums down. Once they hit 15-20k a year, I will drop everything but liability… put that premium $ in the market just like the Ins. Companies and hope the big one doesn’t hit us. The litigious climate in this country is despicable, it will be the downfall of many inherently dangerous activities…Mx, Mtn Biking, skiing, you name it…the fact that one of our own..Eks brand…. Brought this on is just disgraceful…

A track day is going end costing the same as Mammoth lift ticket. That damn single to table is still haunting the sport. Thanks Rich
I wear this hat every day, might be time to toss it
They should be black listed from any track that isn’t on their own property. Lucky for them they have $750k or so to buy their own ride spot that they didn’t have a couple years ago
@ML512 next time you are on pulp please ask Steve if he feels guilty reading the eks brand promo after what Rich has done to the sport that supports his business
Come on... He won't ask that and we all know the answer.
Whole damn thing pisses me off. However, I still have some optimism about LACR and Lake Elsinore in the near(ish) future.
Your problem is right here (California)
While that is true it’s more relevant that this guy is responsible for this closing
Looks like a good Fire Starter.
That's not my place to say to Steve. If you wanna email him or tweet him, go ahead. I'm not starting shit with my friends.
Bro media!
Does X-brand still advertise with Vital?
Dear Vital, a lot of you dislike Cooksey Media. However, you got to give him credit where it's due when he puts himself in vulnerable positions by calling out people/companies that are detrimental to the sport. I don't think many of us would know the root cause of this track closure without him bringing it to Internet. It's beneficial to have a source of industry news that isn't paid by mainstream moto advertising.
Pit Row
1. You should call in and ask him!
2. I appreciate that Steve gives us a free show and he needs to get paid. Do you think other companies will want Steve to endorse their product if we all know Steve will promote anything as long as the check clears? I think associating with Eks Brand could bring Pulp's advertising value way down, even if his audience stays the same size.
LOL. I've got the X-brand banner up right now at the top of this thread.
They're being contacted by the owner of an insurance company as we speak to see if they can make something work. Stay tuned....
I'm just going to say this and leave it...
We all need to remember there's a bunch of industry folks (along with all the random nobodies) that wouldn't blink at fucking over a dozen tracks if it means they get their bag.
Integrity? What's that? I feel like I interact with more and more people who can barely put on a veneer of integrity. Maybe I'm just getting older/wiser and it has always been this way. Here I am constantly "donating to the cause" of keeping racing alive like a sucker while there's snakes everywhere looking for a quick out at the overall expense of the sport.
There's more than a handful of industry folks I've had direct contact with at this point that have left me saying "what the fuck?".

The veil is getting thinner. Keep paying attention and directing your attention and energy towards what aligns with your values.

Gavin might suck, but he never sued a track to the best of my knowledge.
Guys it’s not hard. There is a cool kids table in this sport and we don’t have a seat.
I guess we probably shouldn’t ask about this 🤷♂️
Well that’s new news.
At the end of the day, if insurance companies are paying out more in losses than they are taking in in premiums, bad things are going to happen. And it’s ugly right now. Summer valid, but some are ridiculous. For example, kids steals an ATV wrecks the atv and hurts himself and sues and wins because they shouldn’t have left the key in the Atv where he could steal it. Dumbass liberal judges and juries are putting us in this position. No two wheel motorsports activity in Ireland for the last year because no one can get insurance anymore.
