Thx Brother it is a brutal job from no heat & -24 to extreme heat 190 inside a 53 ft curtain side flatbed . For 2 16 hr days trying to bring 5 slinky coils back to center using 3 chains & binders this past May. I drank 10 gal of water.  Exp drivers back to the 80,s r treated like crap .  I think this is my 48th or 50th driving job.  11th 1099 this Lithuanian guy is cool.  Trk is a mix of Sanford& son & the clampetts, step cousins that found some Trk parts out in the woods. Lol quite a few hrs working on Trk & trl.  Race manual trans 2nd stop at Kroger’s del water - hvy. The clutch pedal stayed 2 in off the floor.  I made it work in the rain. The res was empty. I had a Mexican trk parked next to me I heard him enter the parking lot this morning. My luck he parks next to me. Reefer was stuck on defrost mode , loud with water running out all day. I said I think your reefer is malfunctioning etc. what’s in the trl ? He said ice . He has it set on 48 degrees, so he’s delivering bags of water. 1st time in the Dakota,s me & 1 other. Guy laid submarine cable across a river. Work on a barge then dive in the river swim down to make sure the cable is on the bottom, a lot of current, lucky I didn’t drown. Hang pipe off high bridges , work in tunnels in nyc odd jobs waiting for permits to work on the hhg rig.   SD. To ND. On a gravel rd that was scraped down to mud

Pulling a reefer . That was fun.  I heard stories about ND. Ovr passes getting drifted shut . I exp a few of those storms.  So board here I dropped the trl & went Walmart 9.75% sales tax in Tn. No food here bought a electric frying pan & made chicken breast.  I had dinner & drinks in the North tower in 2000 on a double date with my mob pal from 94 I did buisness with. I was a union excavator at the time building a prison. Lol a hs drop out. I got my ged in 01.  Did all kinds of jobs at the pipeline co . I always said yeah I can do that even if I had no idea what they where talking about. I always figured if another man did it I can. Even if no one has I want to be the 1st.  Youngest guy to operate the biggest locomotive in America plowing gas lines & maintaine it.  Strongest hhg rig in the world quite a few big things there. Etc   The last few yrs it all about tax credit workers.  Where a thing of the past.  I did pull off a miracle using my creative negotiating skills and friendly nature.  .80 cpm when other jobs pay .50-.60 . Cross Pa. On 10-20 mph backroads doing stops. Negotiate again 400 per day pallet jack the ld off 50.00. No one is making 450 a day now.  Pulling doubles was 450-575 a day now 250-300.  I,m not getting many miles but no one is.   I hv aprox 2 mil in denied work injuries . The go to guys the runners do get  injured & when we do the injuries r bigger .  Probably because everything we do is Mach 5.  Inner cities of the north east to Chicago in a smooth bore tanker 60 hrs straight no sleep & we pull& push the heal of the tank off. That 60 hrs straight was the worst torture after 40 hrs .   take apart pumps , inspections, 13 seals hv to match. All 5 boroughs of nyc. Worked 160 hrs of a 168 hr week.  Yrs later 40+ hrs straight in junk is more brutal.  There’s a reason not many older drivers r alive . 1 of my pals there parked at the Waffle House in Carlisle. Walked in & collapsed dead. It’s abandoned now.  I knew this tanker co ran hard I saw there drivers at the tolls in Chicago. There where in a trance.  The owner always bugged me at the y . You should drive for LCL bulk I hear there a great co. Stuff like you must do pretty good with the ladies. I say I do alright.  I even say I can’t drive there they don’t pay nothing. But I got Mack fever . I thought he was a old kook that knew a guy there.  He owned 5 tanker co.s.  Adventurous job like in nyc I hv to wait 2 hrs to unld. I see all these people walking into a old bldg. I walk ovr there & it’s gambling tables , Italians yelling .  Tank isn’t ready in Nj. Shower up another driver & I hit a restaurant. Tony Soprano is having dinner with a mob guy that owned the restaurant & a warehouse  across the st the show wasn’t allowed to film.  Joking with Loretta,s driver she pops out to say hi.

It took me a long time to put the PhD reference together with the picture. Then, I said "post hole digger" out loud and it hit me. I must be uneducated or something. 

Side note- when I was a little boy, I saw one of those in my dad's garage. He told me its name, so I asked, "what does a post hole digger do?" 
He said, "Well, let me show you!" I dug a pretty good post hole that day. 

"Must have handled a shovel at some point in their life" is kind of a prerequisite to me for anyone that's worth a damn.

Yep the same cities with the highest crime & murders, drop out rates & illiteracy, unwed mothers and ever-growing welfare rolls all ran 100% by democrats.

There are no blue states.  Just some blue cities overflowing with morons who vote for a living.   The rest of the Nation is people who actually own things, have a work ethic and get up everyday to work hard,  pay their taxes on April 15 and have an actual stake in a vote other than getting free shit and entitlements.

When I work with people on building their business and they ask me best states, towns markets ect. I tell them democrat states with major cities. There's always a lot of work due to it always being such a densely packed area and 2 none of them know shit when it comes to anything in the constructions/ service area. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

I'm not advocating for bibles in the classroom, but shouldn't some kind of changes be tried in a state that ranks that far down on the list?

Absolutely, it doesn't start with the bible though, that's for sure.
