So in Billy Bolts latest YouTube video it has him riding an Unreleased dirt bike

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmf5eMxj4k8

He is riding it at a skate park, and it's definitely silent. Here is a screen grab also. I cant see an exhaust.

He also mentions later on in the video about nearly giving it away with a comment about "saving the environment."

I wonder if its just a Husqvarna version of the Freeride E or if its a Stark Comeptitor?

If u wanna present a full blown 450 power like bike you wouldnt go to the skatepark i guess.

Execute order 69. Pierer group is restructuring in full swing. KTM is making pumpkins, Husky is going electro and GasGas is making twostroke artilery machines.

That thing looks killer. Street-legal, too!

The only thing is, I think a dual sport is the worst-possible category for electric as they run today. My idea of a great DS ride is: get up early, ride between 50-100 miles to the spot where I'm going to ride, then ride, then ride the 50-100 miles home. I don't think the range is up to the task.

ohh... I watched the vlog but didnt considered it was an electric. I saw it was a "shorter" bike  (? i dont know the proper word in english) but never considered it was an e-Bike. The sound was a bit off, I just went watch it again, it seems... edited?
I saw him saying FIM is demanding less noise from enduro and MX bikes for 2025.
Super Enduro starts in December under  a new promoter and they will allow Taddy to run his Stark against the petrol bikes. I think its cool because NOBODY would watch a full grid of e-Bikes, lets be honest. And if its just him or two Starks, then its fine. The mix is going to be interesting.
But I hope Billy doesnt switch to EVs so soon. Its clear he hates it.

Billy's a pro rider, he will ride whatever his sponsor pays him to ride.

Like a street legal 2 stroke, it's really just to connect trails.

An electric off-road bike should only require mirrors, turn signals and a horn to make street legal, you don't need to modify the powerplant outside of software and weight added to the bike would be minimal. I could see electric bikes having functionality as an around the town ride it to work during the week, then put it in the truck and take it to the trails on the weekend with maybe a wheel change. The key is you can have full performance, not watered down dual sport performance, of course it won't be as light as a 300xc. Riding on the street shouldn't add much wear and tear to the motor, running a battery cycle every day will probably affect the lifespan of the battery, but you'll save miles on your truck.

You won't be doing long dual sport rides however.

This is what I want out of a stark, or if Surrons were street legal. Ride to work, then ride directly to a trail after work on a surron, or just a wheel/plastic swap on the stark.

The charger storage under the seat is a cool feature.

“Nobody would watch a full grid of e-bikes”

This is what you assume and Ive felt the same way too, but we just dont know how many would or wouldnt. The sound is cool (mostly just the start) but the sport is about so much more than the sound. The sound at the start is incredible theres no denying that, but after a few laps when the bikes are spread around the track it all kind of blends together and drowns out.

Honestly since 2 strokes went away the quality of the sound has been waaaay worse anyways. 4 strokes sound like a bunch of ppl farting compared to the magical singing that came from a 125. Lots of ppl watch sports without engine sounds even ones that are nearly the same as mx like bmx racing, downhill mountain bike, road bike racing…etc. Sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, swimming, hell even the biggest sports like football, soccer… have no engine sound. Once 2 strokes went away I feel like the sound is much less important now, hell even f1 the sport with the most iconic sound went away from their v10’s to n/a v6’s and the sport is more popular then ever. There is a possibility that is has a drastic negative effect on the sport, but theres probably just as much of a chance that the sport continues growing even if it switches. Well have to see.
