Just bought a 24 FC 350 and love the bike but not keen on the airfork. What are my options other then the kyb internals that I read about. I saw on mx locker someone selling the kyb internal kit for $ 700. Any cheaper options for just converting the air forks. Excuse me if I'm asking a idiot question. I'm new to the air fork conversion.

I have a set of WP Xact pro spring forks (Cone Valves)  that I had used on previous bikes, and call me crazy but once the Xact aer forks settled in I really like them. Much better than the previous model.  I keep debating selling these.
I went with another set of forks so I could put the stock forks back on when it was time to sell it and not have to tear everything apart to swap the internals.
Other than the KYB inserts, there’s a WP spring insert. There’s also a member here who makes a conversion, CWtoyota is his username.

my brother got the 6500 carts and absolutely loves them! he got them setup by factory connection as well so pry not the cheapest option. I got a 24 350xcf with the CC spring forks and theyre pretty great, if you can scoop some up used that might be a good option. i have friends that got the racetech single side spring conversion and never got them setup to their liking. seems like a good price on that kyb kit, especially if you can install urself

I initially thought the same thing about the air forks when my FC350 was new.  After the bike and suspension broke in and I started messing with the air pressure and clickers, I actually came to like the forks and at this point I'm no longer considering spending big bucks on them.

Got a 24 fc350, front forks have been great, much better than my 19's were.

Old, slow 60yr's

I only weigh about 150 ...I worked my way all the way down to 142psi and still super rare to bottom out and feels pretty good.  For the fork compression clicker, I'm two clicks lighter and for rebound , I went 2 clicks lighter.

For the back, I had to get a lighter spring as I couldn't get the sag right with the stock spring.  I'm 2 clicks slower on rebound and 2 clicks lighter on the HS compression.

Try 10 out on compression and 135 psi, sag 102,

Cost and performance intersection is going to be most favorable using CWToyota’s kit. It’s the best performance at the best price. Really kind of a rare thing.

Thanks for the info. I am 50 - 55 lbs more but this info gives me some different thing to look at.

Yep, I've gone down lower than 142 for air in the forks, but when I go too much below that I'll start to get too much bottoming.

Just got back from Durhamtown, riding track and trails, I run 10.9, just to be safe when I case or overjump lol. I'll check my clickers, I went 4 softer on the trails, should have let a bit of air out too.

I'm 190ish

Love the bike!

Do the kyb inserts fit the shorter fc350 fork tubes?

I have a 21.5 450 SXF FE. I hated my stock air forks, and given the same feeling with prior air forks, I just assumed air forks suck. I converted mine to the 6500s and springs. While I like them a lot, my dad picked up a 23 GasGas 450, and I love the air forks straight off the floor. If I hadn’t converted mine yet, I’d be sending them off for a revalve and any other tricks the shop had, and would call it good. I didn’t try this originally as I didn’t want to pay for a revalve, not like them, then be that far in and still have to fork over the money to convert to spring.

I’m 165 pounds and it’s perfect for me.

Try it and if it’s to soft go up, 2 psi till you hit the sweet spot.  Don’t chase the compression until you get the psi correct, 10 out is money

Give them a chance. I’ve had Cone Valves and KYB inserts and ended up back on the AERs and was happy. I couldn’t say that about the earlier versions of air forks, but the newer versions are nice. I liked them better than the Showa fork on my Honda, but just bought a YZ450F and those forks are sweet.
