Started by a propane grill that either was too close to a 5th wheel or had a leak and was close to the 5th wheel.

Kind of crazy that this is not more common.

If your propane hoses have anything wrong with them, replace them. Don’t repair them, replace them. And put some thought into where you setup your BBQ.

Yup, Jef is a great guy. There's another video that shows them yanking him out the window. Pretty knarly. The guys that got him and his dog out are legends. The fire was right there and they stood their ground getting him out the window.

Would not have helped from what I saw. Heard an explosion & looked over & the fire was wicked already.

We were there and it was pretty gnarly. One thing I noticed was a lot of the campers were trying to get super close together so no sun would come through when they put awnings out because of the heat. Not sure if this was a contributing factor with those trailers. We put a little distance between our motorhomes in our group. I never BBQ next to my RV. Always try to move 10’ away. My brother and brother in-law went over and drug things away from the fire. Thank goodness nobody was seriously injured. That fire was 25’ in the air in seconds it seemed like……. 3 years ago we watched a guy light his tent on fire while trying to get his charcoal lit. He had a moon roof by the time he got it out.

WORCS but lame.

Why lame? Genuinely curious

I’ve done both & neither is lame. Worcs has UTVs n quads racing the same day as dirt bikes, if anything I’d classify that as lame. Rumor has it WORCS is making changes next season, I’d assume because NGPC is getting huge turnouts for bikes & Worcs isn’t. Both are solid race events, neither are lame.

What exactly happened? Too close to a 5th-wheel? My RV has a slide-out propane grill that is about three feet from the propane tank mounted on the front. What ignited?

What a nightmare. Pretty sure a family died out at Freestone a couple of years ago. But, I think it was the propane lines in the RV, not an external grill.

It's a good lesson to learn.

A leaky propane hose connected to a BBQ caught fire at the BBQ end, burned its way free and basically acted like a flamethrower that whipped around and nobody could catch it. That’s from a guy who was camped about 75 feet away, and it’s consistent with what I heard from about a dozen others.
