And while it wouldn't be the first choice for Star, I'm sure they could coordinate with the Yamaha factory GP team to get a frame and motor combo and build it up with Eli's suspension, etc to race.  Much like Herlings did in the US when he borrowed one of the KTM bikes.

I do think Star is working hard on the logistics....  I think they can get it done.

If they are considering throwing in the towel, I lose a ton of respect for the way the team is selected and managed...  If there is a will , there is a way.

I think Dave only trolls when Keir asks him to or Vitards have it coming. I get the feeling he didn’t this time.

Or when Team France rocked up with an Enduro rider and won when Matterley Basin last hosted the MXdN.

2017  - I also think Charlier raced it in Germany 2013 and when France got a top 5.

I asked Jeremy Coker last night and he stated that Webb's bikes haven't left yet. Even though air freight only takes one day of travel, the time in customs seem to have some I spoke to a bit nervous. They need to decide by Monday afternoon if we're still competing so bikes can be shipped.

Webb's bikes will need to be air freighted.

If Tomac says yes, they need to build two bikes on Sunday/Monday and probably have them air freighted by Tuesday.

I'm more off a read only member here on the forum but on this one i would like to know why do they need to build/ship those bikes to europe in the first place ?

since they are all on factory teams in the US why dont they just use some bikes from the MXGP teams ? Would bring the costs down and no stress with all the shipping, customs sh*t .... Just send the mechanis a few days earlier to europe with some key parts like suspensions, etc... so they can build the bikes here in Europe ....

I hope Sexton can still make it and otherwise i hope Tomac steps up to replace so team USA is represented, i'm going to the MXON for the first time in over 5 years again so hope to see some USA based riders over there, its what makes this event so special for me the battle between MXGP/AMA riders so the more represent the better.

The bikes are just too different. It may seem like they’re racing the same bike; but, the differences are many and more complex than would make sense in a brief explanation.

At this level the riders have a lot of confidence in “their” bike that’s set-up by their people and that’s what they want to race.

Yeah i know they will always prefer that in first place, but it just got me thinking about it because things are getting very narrow shedule wise to get everything in time ready and shipped.

If thats the problem to decide if they go or not then they still have this option thats what i mean with it as Yamaha Europe/MXGP will have bike's somewhat ready to race since both Bonacorsi and Vlaanderen are not competing the MXON and for a 250 they can go for one off Benistant's or Elsinga's bikes. I know the MXGP bikes are a bit different over the US bikes but not that they can't set them up for a one weekend event no, i dont think they are sending bikes over for events like supercoss Paris either so....

Even for Sexton when ever he can decide to make the trip or not but just cant decide in time to get the bikes over here they have the option to use one off the bikes from the KTM team over here, the same for Plessinger ....

I'm mean the main goal is to get the best riders possible/available over on those kind off events so the point off getting bikes build/shipped in time should not make it a break point but thats maybe just me thinking this way.

The most disturbing thing in that interview is him talking about a chiropractor leading the way on sexton's hand injury. Can't really find the words to explain how fucked up and inappropriate that is. So far outside of scope of practice for a chiropractor that it's literally criminal.....

Dave somebody who knows the Sextons apparently. I'll update my vitalmx insiders list. Thanks.

I'll slot him next to Forkners dad, Jimmy Albertsons dad and which riders dad is a lawyer and came on Vital to threaten lawsuits years ago? Was it Mitchell Harrisson?

Okay, you’re comparing the Vegas SMX track to all the outdoor tracks where Malcolm finished 6th overall?

Brother, it doesn't matter who the manager is...you have to have riders/teams able and willing to go.  Late season injuries complicate things enough...series champions that opt out make things even harder.

Honestly nobody in Europe really cares if the US Team is there or not.
We will see the fastest US based riders and that’s all that matters. Jett or Hunter not coming would really suck.

Also what’s the big“sending a bike“ problem. When Jacobi came over weeks ago to get a top 10 result he brought his complete bike in bags. The US team travels with so many people so a couple of extra bags shouldn’t be a problem.

Yes, there are a lot of moving and non moving parts for sure...  Among other options, I see moving Webb up to the 450 with AP and bringing JuJu or Pierce Brown on the 250.  Both can ride an Austrian bike, and there are plenty of those over there to ride if an effort is made.

Again, if there is a will, there is a way.

Yep.

In regards to  Doc G.... he has been around the sport since about 1997-ish (Natural Health Sports Therapy in Costa Mesa).

Before that he was working with pro skateboarders & surfers.

The first MX/SX guy he worked with was Ferry in 97  when he won the 125 East SX.

He also worked a lot with Ezra ,KDub,RC ,RV  ,Ivan,Dungey,Reed, Hanny,Musquin,Webb,Seely,,AP,Forkner...and a list of many others that swear by him.

He also consults and refers with Bodnar when it's something more serious at the races.

Weird. I'm a German aswell and I definitely disagree with the first part. In fact I think most euros were looking forward watching Chase/Tomac and Deegan compete. Bummed we might not see any of these three in the end. The race is still better with Team USA in it.

By the way, Tim Gajser has zero chance of winning that event with Slovenia and he still lines up. I can't belive Roger just said "we should give up" if neither Sexton or Tomac can go.

I still like the Webb to MX3 and slide JuJu into the 250 spot. Seems the simplest solution right now. KTM could handle the logistics of the 250 pretty easy.

I will say this, if Eli goes on a stock frame and just suspension and motor and JuJu rides a Euro spec bike and the team finishes 7th, Vitards will call for Decosters head. Again.

Roger sounds beaten down over the lack of interest and support from the US industry. If I were him I would get to the bottom of whose job it is to raise interest and support from the US industry and make a change at that position.

Literally you guys are spoilt for choice in every class to send competitive teams made up of any number of guys.

Sure it’s not Eli, Chase and Deegan for a probably guaranteed win but isn’t the point the event itself matters?

Fucks sake, most of the rest of us are hoping for a couple good results and a miracle.

I’ve not thought so before but time to go IMO. Let someone else lead the charge.

ML said, "I guess you've already been pretty far down the list just to get to Webb".  Roger said, "Yes, if Eli can't go we should give up".

I took that to mean Webb was probably the only one logistically/financially able to go.  If Eli now can't or won't go...there's no one else.

You'd think that the "riders" would be the easiest part of fielding a team.  I mean, if you win or are near the top of your class you're gonna get a call.  It's pretty obvious there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than we hear about.  Roger ain't  a DNS kinda guy.

The riders should be the easiest part of a well run team. If the collective support, fund raising, operations and logistics are nailed down months in advance the rider selection becomes plug and play.

It's going to take some re-imagining of what the team could be and what is needed to get there, and some driven and capable people that want more than the half-ass "team" process we have been enduring for years.

So better stay home and we don’t have that, but if, talk the whole year. Let‘s be real, Eli is also not on the level of the Lawrence bros and Webb on a 250x who knows. If he‘s not doing good we have to hear the excuse for another year…

There is no one who's job is to raise interest and support from the US industry, the factory teams and AMA are focused on US domestic series, but happy to call one a "World Championship".

I‘m not worried with the German team. There is no pressure for the team. They will be fine.

Realistic guess, there is not one rider in the US Team that will win his class, at least this looks better for Germany.

Tell me who’s gonna win his class from the US team?
Tomac better than Prado, Gajser, Jeffrey and Jett?

Webb better than Längnfelder, Conen or deWolf?

AP over Hunter, Coldenhoff, Renaux and even Mewse?
I‘m not bashing the team, but I can’t see a win

Simon has a decent shot at winning MX2. With L Coenen out of the class there's really only De Wolf that he has to worry about.

I‘m not bashing the team, but I can’t see a win

You don't have to win your class, it's all about consistency.  Every team can have one really bad moto, but you have 2 you are probably out of it. The US path to victory or a podium is consistency (fingers crossed for AP).  If your throw away score is a 10 or 12 overall you might have a shot.  All 3 use riders are capable of top 4 in their respective classes IMO.

Naw. If we’re thinking like that, send Malcolm. He finished the Nationals higher than Nicoletti, and his Austrian team would support it.

Are you serious right now did you not see Malcolm just riding around in the back?  Never would I pick Malcolm over Phil.

Get bent buddy bet I've won more prizes in Pulp than you have.  Phil over Malcolm for that race every time just on the heart factor.
