Just accept it as Dallas man...We're in the big D. Jets/Giants play in Jersey...you get the point.

If you really wanna get high and mighty, you need to call this race Roanoke, or Northlake, or what ever the hell city TMS is in haha

Fort Worth annexed that area so they could collect the tax revenue. I agree it’s not Fort Worth but it’s definitely not Dallas. I mean if it’s all just Dallas why bother with the FW in DFW. It’s just arrogant Dallas people and uneducated non Texas that think everything north of Austin is Dallas.

What moved to Arlington from Dallas? The Cowboys haven't played in Dallas proper since 1971.

I will say, supercross in the old stadium in the 90's was pretty rad. Nothing like it is at Jerry world. I went there twice and will never go back there, ever.

You probably cry about the football team that plays in Arlington being called the Dallas Cowboys too.

Fort Worth is great, but it is the little sister to Dallas. Just like St Paul is the little sister to Minneapolis.

I’m sure Fort Worth would like the recognition. It’s just lame that non Texans think Texas is Dallas Austin and Houston. The most non Texas parts of our state.

Having lived in San Antonio for 25 years, I feel your pain.  It's the 7th largest city in the U.S. and most couldn't point it out on a Texas map if they tried.🤣. Especially all the "new" Texans living in Austin that are busy Californicating Central Texas.

In fairness, San Antonio has such a huge footprint and the density is so much less than other major cities that it just doesn't seem like it's in the same league as some of the bigger name cities.  If you look at the 'Seattle area' that stretches from Everett to Tacoma and includes Bellevue, the top 6 cities have about the same total of people but half of the land area than San Antonio so they have twice the density.  I was actually shocked with how much land area that San Antonio includes.  I think it's something close to 200th in density for the top 300 cities in the country, so it's pretty deceptive when most people think about 'large cities'.

Let them have their delusional hick opinions.  There is no reasoning with “your town sucks and mine right next to it is better” logic. If Dallas (and now I guess Plano got dragged into it because they looked at my profile) was so awful we wouldn’t be experiencing so many people moving in and driving up our property values.

Metro area population gives you a better idea of how large a “city” really is. Dallas proper really isn’t that large.  It’s the spider web of suburbs attached that make DFW huge.

At least!  Wife and I had an early dinner at Terry Black's not too long ago and it was over $120 for the two of us.  We didn't get nearly as much as that picture shows!

Yeah, the Seattle metro area is over twice as dense as the SA metro area also.  I just never knew how big the boundaries of SA actually are.  That's a huge area for just a single city.

Yeah, but that only counts the legal residents in San Antonio.  Count EVERYONE and the population goes up by 50%.🤣

The fact Plano is being lumped in with Dallas shows there is quite a bit of geographical confusion in this thread about geographical confusion. I grew up in Plano and even back then the city distanced itself from Dallas. The coldness between Dallas and Plano was mutual.

This was basically my backyard in the early 80's, then the northern-most edge of civilization in north Texas. That water tower is just east of what is now the Coit/Spring Creek intersection.

Cool photo! Dude I remember when McKinney wasn’t attached to the DFW blob. Now it goes to damn near Sherman with everything built out along 75. It’s insane.

Now now don't forget our football state championships and rash of suicides lol. Plano is a generic suburb like all the other generic suburbs in north Texas. Not sure what there is to dislike about it, other than its overwhelming generic-ness. I used to ride the clown ramp at Bachman Lake before Eisenbergs was a thing.

This weekend will test the whole theory why Texas can't host a outdoor national. 98 and I'm sure parts of the area will see 3 digits.

Dallas isn't a shit hole by any stretch for a big city and the suburbs of Dallas are leaps and bounds better than Ft Worth. I'm sorry Dallas hurt your feelings at some point in life.
