If you want pubs/food, head into Winchester, it's littered with awesome pubs and food.

If you want non touristy and authentic pubs head to The New Forest (about a 45 min drive from Winchester) . Lived there in the late ‘80’s / early ‘90’s it’s amazing. You can thank me later .

Stacks of pubs with fine ales...U can't go wrong actually...

The food is hit n miss but if U like indian food you'll get some of the best...

If U R into history check out all the Roman stuff...e.g Dover lighthouse circa 1AD

It's all over the country and mind blowing!

If you want party, head to Brighton. You can party 25 hours a day there.

If you’re staying for the following week & want more Moto, the Weston beach race is the following weekend (11th-13th)

In 2017 we lived in south hampton, went to the Titanic museum (waste of time). And some regular strip club to watch some pale girls with bad teeth and big ears.

The way I understand it the races on that side of the pond are much more laid back of a pace and not as much of a GO GO GO pace compared to here.

what town are you staying and what sort of pubs you looking for? music / quite ?

like someone said , Winchester has some great pubs, if its a  quite pub, alresford (next to matterly)has couple of nice pubs

if i was looking to go abroad  for a couple of days , i would swerve Paris and head for either prague or Zagreb, or check out flights from southampton airport and see where you fancy

The real question is, where are the good snooker halls? As an avid pool player I would love to try my hand on the 12 foot table.

You didn’t say how long you are there for and that makes a big difference. Personally I think Paris is massively overrated. In fact some friends brought their family to London from Nashville and they also went to Paris and said they wish they’d stayed in London.

I’d suggest at least a day sightseeing in London, you can get a decent pint in the city in an old pub too.

Countryside and pubs near the track are also good, if you have a car that is. If you don’t, forget it

Many years since i lived there but the best ales are usually found in "Free House" pubs.  Look for places with hand pumps not taps.  If you're not experienced with "real ales"...give yourself 3 pints before you pass judgement.  By then you'll be converted.😉

I should add...try the Scrumpy if you can find some.  Apple cider that's been kicked in the arse.

England is great, but food is well below average if you don't go into the high ticket restaurants in London. I've had the best beer in England and the worst Risotto Smile

Funny I would say the same about the US. (Not the beer thing)

There's lots of shit food about, but there can be diamonds in the rough they just take some finding, and you will usually pay a premium.

Sort of agree. I think really great food/restaurants especially in California are just super expensive. Had fantastic Mexican food in La Jolla, my mouth loved it, my wallet not so much Smile

That is incorrect. In general the food in the UK is of much higher quality when compared to the food in the US.

That’s an honest unbiased opinion having lived 30 years in the UK and 26 in the US.
