Yes there were first night problems, will DC and MX Sports get it sorted, you bet they will.

Not saying they didn't have a DOS or DDOS today. Just saying that they are under the gun right now and they know that this story sounds credible and is really hard for someone, even an 'expert', to disprove. In my experience it is far more likely an unintended consequence (aka bug) in fresh software released for this season bit em. Seen it happen. Many times. Even caught one vendor red-handed trying to float the DOS story. Turns out it was a little bug in my own software that brought their NOC down! A bug that they should have had safeguards against. The bug was my bad, but I knew right then they didn't know their asses from a hole in the ground.
And Wood is right. They should multi-home the servers no matter what the cause. Cheap and effective way to avoid bottlenecks.
