It’s Vital, of course we are smart then HRC! And the AMA, CIA, FBI, ATF and all the other 3 letter agencies. Now where did I put my crayons, I need to pen a letter to the AMA and alert them to the error in their ways.
Please elaborate on Ryno, was that the new 450? he was 125 before that?
Yes; he helped develop the original CRF.
Funny, I haven't seen anyone mention McGrath and the new frame in '97. Apparently, it made a straight guy turn full-on Suzuki.
Hmmmmm...
If I'm reading that correctly...
They have to have 200 available by March 2025 (March 2024 has passed and so has June...so....I'm looking at 2025 requirements).
Does the AMA require them to have 200 available NOW as some sort of addenda to be eligible...? And, therefore, 400 by next June...?

"If I'm reading that correctly..."
And that's the problem with so much of the AMA Rulebook - you shouldn't have to wonder if you're "reading it correctly" - its primary objective should be to define clear boundaries on the subject at hand so participants know how to behave within the parameters of the rules and not have a "yeah, but" defense if they violate them.
I'm far from an authority on the publication but so much of what I have read is inexcusably vague and poorly written. I don't know how they can expect to enforce so many of the rules in it because anyone with a semi-critical thought process could poke holes in whatever position they try to take on one.
Sir,
In the future please end all opinions on these matters with the following phrase:
"...not that there's anything unusual about that after all these years."🤣
He was in Europe before that. Came back in 01 and rode nationals on the prototype CRF.![]()
Dear sir - my deepest apologies and many thanks for your patience as I endeavor to better myself. I'm still a work in progress... just ask my wife.😄
There's a story there, and I was with a girl. what year did he almost win a 125 championship. What nationals on the 450?
Did you try looking under a Little Debbie box?
That's where I would have left them.😁
Will will clear this all up tomorrow when she breaks into the action to tell us she talked to someone about something, maybe this…
He didn't get to honda until 02.
Edit, I misread. disregard. The 25' honda's look amazing. Ittl take some willpower to not pick one up.
Seems like a good reason to blame the bike when he doesn’t beat chase.
Nobody is beating chase until Jett comes back🤷🏼♂️
The published rules appear to be clear cut until you start putting in scenarios like this one.
My opinion, and it’s worth about what you pay for it, is that if you are allowed to race a bike that isn’t really available to buy then the AMA should eliminate the production rule altogether.
What an awesome Honda promo if Hunter did win today!
And, if he doesn't, does that mean all the other manufacturers that finish in front of him run ads saying, "Honda: our '24 model is better than their '25"? 😄
Privateers do this every year so what’s the big deal?
The Factory teams usually do not have enough time setting them up to bother doing it till A1
Pit Row
What are the chances of a KTM protest if Hunter wins on the 2025? Downvote me all you want, and I know this kind of stuff has been done a lot before, but that 2025 CRF doesn’t meet the AMA homologation rules posted in this thread.
Lindstrom mentioned that they had to work to get the bike homologated, but not sure what that entailed given the written rules. If the reasoning is that you have to have the bikes available for sale in the year of the ‘model year’ the motorcycle is claimed to be, it seems like you could conceivably change your frame and cases and claim it was a 2029 model and have nearly 5 years to actually have the bike available for sale.
If the rules are the same as 2023 and before. There is NO penalty that would impact Hunter. The proposed penalty for breaking the rule was a fine to the manufacturer.
I have not had the time to read the entire 2024 rule book. But somebody with time, that cares. Read it and find what the penalty is, IF they added one. And that would be the worst case. I really doubt that Honda did not do everything that the AMA said they needed to do.
Somebody should find and post what the penalty for breaking the rule is.
I believe that Honda is acting in the spirit of the rule. And that they are racing a bike that will be using the parts form either the production or WE version 2025 CRF.
Stuff that gives the series a little boost . A racer coming back, a new model, euro coming over, etc. Are things that seem to have been done in the past to keep the interest level in the nationals higher as the season goes buy and the points leads get big. They work to find some new storylines.
