The result of yet another bonehead decision by the AMA. Talk about running a series into the ground.

Uh,
No.
But thanks.
Lucky they aren't using more than 1 set of plastic or the big four would have to file bankrupcy.
lol you know barry huh? he usually rides daytona and drives straight through to get back for englishtowns season opener every year...its only about 20 or so hours
A former 125 racer in the hunt for a championship has to start all over again to gain access into the SX class?
Sounds like a rider I know; but maybe not....Did he ride for FMF/Honda when they had their 125 team yrs ago?
Almost coming to a point where even zero points will give you a National number; if SX class with their low rider turnout and wonder how many will travel the Nationals since predictions are fuel will be min 3.50/gal and poss closer to $4....Especially since purse money doesn't even keep up with the cost of racing. Everyone knows Lites SX pay zero National Points.
There is always going to be that one rider, if had gotten the right breaks, could've been something. Do like John Dowd; become a legend at a later age, especially if they have the talent.
Look at your local races and see how many "experts" are there; most cases at least here, very few to none.
I agree, when local guys could show up and try to qualify. But they were only doing a few of those races each season.....
Pit Row
Barry almost had the start in the first heat! But he went face first into the sand turn berm on the outside.
How old is Barry like 82 now? Props to him.
It needs time to cycle riders through it.
The AMA did make concessions on it this year, by allowing west lites riders to race big bikes, and some will do so when ready.
There are also a lot of riders eligible to race SX, but have chosen to race other things.
and I call 100% bullshit on this;
[quote:1j1tc032]"...One was a former125 racer that was in the hunt for a championship a number of years back, last year he was denied entry into the 450 class."[/quote:1j1tc032]
Riders who have previously raced SX and made night shows were grandfathered in, they do not have to earn an endorsement.
Something else was up, but it wasn't eligibility

The A.M.A is why you only had 31 riders. Change it back so people can DECIDE what class they want to ride. I don't have to graduate from the 250f class to the 450 class why are they making them? This only makes it more expensive and harder on the privater

You can't just show up and race MotoGP either

Moto GP is a bit diffrent than MX is dave.
Why?
It's pro road racing.
[quote="APLMAN":3jwvsq2s]You shouldn't be allowed to race the SX class unless your bike is traveling in a semi trailer anyway, otherwise it ruins the fan experience.......[/quote:3jwvsq2s]Congratulations,you two have managed to conjure up two of the dumbest things i've ever heard.(seriously)

Forget it Dave, you offered the real reason and everyone wants to blame AMA.
Look at all the guy's out of the 32 and tell me who in the USA would be beating them ?
