MXdN is a meaningless fanfare. Don’t get why anybody would be mad at a rider for giving it a skip.
Glad we finished kicking you guys out in 1783.
I hate to interrupt yet another of your emotional meltdowns, but you do realize the US is sending a team to Matterly Basin right? Just like the US sent a team to Ernee, and just like every year before that other '21 due to residual Covid travel restrictions.
This thread is about the possibility that one candidate for the team may elect to have surgery before instead of after the MXoN.
Now go back to ranting about things you don't understand.
Just checking in to take the temperature of the Deegan Derangement Syndrome today.....

You're both right. The Nations shouldn't be about money but it ain't free to get there or compete. Cost should be the easiest obstacle to overcome.
The FIM and the national federations should have funded the teams long ago.
As far as riders unable or unwilling to go... that's a different kettle of fish.
I do believe that if produced/marketed properly it could really help the sport in numerous ways. Human interest stories, the nationalistic slant, the action... it's a peach tree ripe ripe for the pickin's.
I didn't read your entire post but....
AMA doesn't pay for shit for guys to go to the ISDE, it's basically all done through private fundraising.
What's ironic is every year Vital has melt downs because Moto dudes don't wanna go to MXdN to represent their country and every year we send dudes who spend their own money to represent their country at the ISDE and nobody here cares.
aha so a lot of you that hate Deegs, now love him to go to the MXDN?!?!?!
Yet we've sent a team every year since 2012 with the exception of 2021 because of Covid restrictions, so your claim that there is less intetest in going is dubious and unclear.
Perhaps you meant there is less interest from teams and riders. But again, a quick look at the history of MXoN show's that even in our heyday of winning, there are numerous examples of us not sending our best team possible. Damon Bradshaw, Jeff Stanton, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey are examples of riders who turned down a chance to ride for the Stars and Stripes. Before them, Marty Smith turned down an offer to race the MXoN because of his bad experiences in Europe.
Various teams throughout the race's history have also decided not to go. Team Honda had little intetest in going until DeCoster came aboard, and Suzuki never sent a rider.
You claim there's been less interest and suggest that there is a strong correlation between that and Team USA not winning, but you fail to address the many other variables, such as injuries, surgeries, personal obligations (such as Justin Cooper getting married), rest time, and scheduling. Despite all that, a team has been sent 99% of the time.
And for what? Just to have someone like you say the US has sucked at the MXdN for years at a time?
Don't pay ant attention to the anti-American dribble form the usual suspects...their lives must be pretty bad when all they ever do is shit on anything and everything American....on an American message board...
So you're telling others (teams and riders) how they should and shouldn't spend their money? It's their money, and they earned it. How much they have is irrespective of how it should be spent, so you're the one who is not being very convincing here.
As for waving a flag, again, that's not for you to decide. If Haiden makes the podium and wants to hold up an American flag, then he can do that. That does not obligate him to race the MXoN. It doesn't even make him a hypocrite for not racing the MXoN, since he could have very good reasons for not racing the event (not that racing the MXoN defines one's patriotism because it doesn't)
Of course, none of those reasons would be good enough for you, as well as several other individuals in this thread, since, you'd likely just be incredulous to it all and say they were excuses anyway.
If we send a team and lose, it's because we suck. If we don't send our best team, it's because our riders are making excuses and are afraid. If we win, it'll be because of luck (like in 2022 when Team USA won -- only happened because it was in the USA).
In short, its a lose/lose battle with the antagonists.
HA! Spot on.
More like Safety Boy Deegan if this is true
I know for Nz , it is at least double the cost to send a trophy team only to the isde compared to sending a team to the mxdn
A meaningless fanfare?? 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
It’s the best race of the year!! I don’t understand why people in here think it should go to every second year. It’s the race I look forward to most every single year, with the AMA and MXGP championship both contributing to the hype of who will go head to head at the end.
Personally, I am more impressed by who wins MXON over who wins the MXGP or AMA championships.
Of course it’s always better when the Americans show up, they bring a huge amount of hype. but either way, there or not, the atmosphere is insane and 10000% the most electric!
I like that.
Pit Row
im a big fan of his riding, but not a fan of him ( he sort or reminds me of hearlings in his early days , so i expect deegs will grow on me ) and the mxdn would be better watch with him there for sure
pride should be the motivation, not money and thats directed at any rider , especially if you can afford it
I did say fanfare which is positive. The results just rarely mean much. Always riders missing or teams that aren’t necessarily made up of the best riders from each country. No doubt a great event worth attending but hasn’t any weight outside of that.
The AMA is the premier world class of MX for me personally. Made even clearer by things like WSX and MXGP in it’s current state.
Of course, just an opinion.
do what some of the euros have done when they have raced in the states
blag a bike , jump on a plane with youre suspension and off you go ..
i know i know , not quite as easy as that, but it can be done
exactly.....that is the main point of all of this.....
its up to the national federations, AMA in case of USA, to support their international teams......all teams get the same travel indemnities and prize money accordingly to their finishing position, paid to the respective national federations, why should the team from the biggest and richest market get a special treatment over the others ???.....USA kept using their advantage and got huge winning streaks without any special treatment, now that they can not be that superior anymore, they have to get more advantages over the others ???
look at what the french federation, FFM, did.....they fought back, they got well organized, they put in the work, they put in their money and they have become the number 1 team in the last decade......
blame the AMA, make them give back to motocross the money they get from the it, make them do their job for their country.......don't blame the race.......or like a lot of american fans say here, quit it all together and don't show up anymore......
EG see Deano going to race in Brazil at short notice.
Well would a MMA fighter go to compete in the Olympics for free? Hell no.
They are called prize fighters.
Winning for Pride of a country ended a long time ago.
These guys are professional racers. There needs to be money involved, If you only got 2 months off work per year, are you spending that time working for another company for free for “Pride” ??? No you are taking time off and recovering from your paying job. It would be different if MXON wasn’t every year. Shit.. Loretta’s feels more special that MXON these days
I think the point is putting your countries best rider in the contest. But I could be wrong.
Nobody on a 250 is faster than Deegan.
What info? All I hear is speculative clowns trashing on the 18 year old Deegan.
Lets be honest, Jason Thomas was a failed racer and Steve Matthes was a never-has-been
Haiden should do what is best for Haiden. I love the history of the race, but I have no issue with riders not competing either. Our guys have a brutal schedule especially now with the playoff.
So you came to that conclusion by yourself?
HD/MXDN love both.
200% this. I trully believe the federations or the FIM are not doing their job by protecting this event to be a way to promote the sport in their respective country (aka money = more tracks to ride for instance). Federations in so many sports are just bs jobs (think big sports) that are just here to collect their lil share of money and ego booster (they are not even smart enough to collect it properly to grow their sport). I love that event, the atmosphere, the racing, the US vs GP, but when it is just milking I am also just calling it out and absolutely forgiving any rider who can't say that but think the same.
