Forecast says bright sun and 96f. Track will be very wet in the AM, concrete by moto 2 and dusty at end of day. Hydrate or pay the price!!! I love going but I hate riding it in high temps. Spectating can be rough too when it's this hot.
Lewis better put a Bimini top on the sexton ship.
Got any stock tips 🤓
I'll be there with the lady and the kiddos. Will miss practice this year though, kids are too young to withstand the whole day. I'll try to keep em in the shade.
Washougal steamer. If anything, it looked to me like the heat at Millville affected Hunter a bit. We'll see what happens if the forecast holds.

Still calling for 96f. Humidity has been around 50% this week and it's not very comfortable. I'll miss this year's race - I'm not up for that heat all day. My couch will be just fine for this old guy.
Are teams running electric water pumps year round or just certain races?
A couple forecasts for a potential Washougal Steamer:
bring national back to the south.
theres been 2 days in the past 2 weeks that its been over 95 deegrees…
My generator and ac are going to get a good workout. Hoping to get a shady spot.
Nationals should be in the fall, change my mind.
Nope. This is and always will be part of the challenge.
What has it been 94 degrees the other 12 days?
Luck of the draw, next Tuesday the high is 77. Can’t change the weather
That spike for Saturday is still holding. Hopefully it pulls in or pushes out, but now with being so close now this forecast is likely accurate. Probably great news for Chase:
At least there are plenty of trees to offer shade to spectators, and it's not a barren wasteland like Pala.
Just reinforces my decision to watch from the house. That's gnarly hot up there, and humidity is going be 50% which will make it dangerous for rider and spectator alike. Hopefully everyone stays safe. The shade will only help a little, plus this is a track where you have to walk around to see many of the sections. 2x up HP hill to the Road Jump might do me in. Washougal river is gonna be jammed afterwards as will the road out.

I honestly think Hunter's head held him back last weekend. I'm guessing he couldn't ride most of the week after Red Bud for concussion protocol via Honda. Then the heat played its part on Saturday because of the week prior. Either way it was still good racing!
The races are starting at noon local time this week so that should help a little. Looking at the hourly forecast, it shouldn't hit 90° until second motos.
Living in deep south Texas, 95f-98f and 50% humidity is a normal summer riding day. We start riding at 8am and are toast by 1pm. I've lost 8lbs of weight from dehydration on days lIke that.
It's one thing to be acclimated to it, but you still have to be on top of hhydration and core temps.
