I heard there were adv bikes that are or will be made there but not the mx bikes. Honda makes just about everything that isn’t a crf 250/450 r/x there.

Just check the vin. That will tell you where the bike was assembled.

Honda makes quite a few bikes in Japan still

The CRF race/enduro bikes, Africa Twin, Goldwing, Rebel 1100, Transalp I believe as well

The Atvs/SxSs are made here in South Carolina

Some of the trail bikes are from Brazil

But they do make some stuff in China/Taiwan

But they are still the only manufacturer of a youth atv that doesn't outsource parts

Lots of the mid level bikes 300cc and 500cc, are made in Thailand.

Honda CRF250F is made in Brazil, which they call the National.  Them boys from Brazil have made a living selling hop up parts for a 250F.  I’m have one mod’d up with Brazilian parts, makes one heck of a trail bike/pit bike.  It’s a hoot to ride.  I even make a lap or two on it at the MX track every now and then.

i doubt we’ll see the CRFR’s and African Twins and main stream Hondas move out of Japan anytime soon.

KTM picked the right company, CF Moto.  As much as I hate to say it, CF Moto makes some high quality ATV’s.  The Big KTM/Kawasaki dealership down I45 in Houston has them sitting right next to Kawasaki ATV’s……..CF Moto looks dang good and they sell.  Not any cheaper either.

If KTM GasGas Husky were good about returns and warranty it wouldn’t be an issue. But after seeing some of the GasGas grenading, with no help at all from the dealer, it’s a little concerning. Also reports of electronics, FI, ecu hiccups etc.

They are better than the other manufacturers which isn’t saying much.

Paying for premium and getting Chinese quality this could be the beginning of the end for KTM if true! My 22 will be the last Austrian bike I own and I'll get rid of it as soon as they start making replacement parts in China!

Where do you think the radiators are made? 😬

Haha sounds like fun, but no more Canadian races this year. I'm racing RedBud next weekend though!

On what brand have you chosen?

Pankle makes the radiators and they just opened up a cooling division in China!

Poor Josh M., he had to make Vital MX Forum profile to clear out rumors which could cause some bad blood between MXA and KTM. Using MXA's language, first and foremost - thank you Josh for making great quality MX content with test, pro races and trips/riding.

This rumor with Chinese assembly is circulating and many people are turning their backs on Austrian bikes due to that fact. It would be in Austrian's profit to clear this out for general public, not only journalists. Times are tough also Europe's laws and regulations aren't helping companies to stay competitive while Chinese companies are on the rise.
I'm a huge advocate to keep production in Europe but I'm also fine with outsourcing simple(!) manufacturing to Asia as long as 20 Austrian engineers will oversee the production. When they will be gone, quality might drop down.

We sourced a radiator from China that has consistently had higher quality than the previous one we bought from Mexico and  has been slightly better in warranty than the parts we make in the US. If Pankl has good quality controls their Chinese rads will be fine. MX rads don't get stressed much. I hit a tree on a KX450 once and bent the radiator and shroud all the way back. I beat it back forward with a rock and finished the race and still rode for a month before replacing the radiator. It never did leak.

I apologize to Josh for the comment mix-up, although the china part was correct but not the CF moto part. Like most of you here I watch a lot of moto content during the day and must have gotten some information crossed up when I made this post. My apologies for the slander MXA and Josh!

If you guys are worried about your motorcycle being made in China, go take the liner out of a new helmet and see where is it manufactured. Particularly, a Bell Moto 10 that a lot of top pro's are wearing.

Josh Mosiman sucks up to KTM, its so obvious that its his favorite brand.  There’s no unbiased journalism in motocross.  Just like actual news unfortunately.

All helmets except a couple of the Japanese brands are made in China and most are made in the same factory I believe.

I see your point but it's not a good comparison.

There are fewer corners to cut when making a helmet, also they are batch tested by an independent agency.

I trust you, as you were the first one to crack the code that KTM and GPX are made in the same Factory.
