450F with big tank, 18” rear wheel, and suspension set up for GP is what I’ve gone with the last several years.  Definitely harder to manage in really tight stuff off road but easier in other areas like fast open stuff and hacked out trails, and goof at the track.

You can make them good off road and they are made for MX.

I’d say 300 if you’re a two stroke guy.

Well.... I have raced both MX and enduro on my '19 KTM 150sx with an XC tank.  A KTM 250sx or Husky TC would rock, too.  I had a '19 Husky TX300 and I didn't like it as well on the MX track as the smaller bikes but I suppose you could.  I have ridden a Husky TC250 with an XC tank and Rekluse off-road and it was _killer_.

I don't get along well with YZ's, but if you do, the YZ 250x would be great.  My cousin has one and uses it for everything pretty well.  I myself have had 2 enduro-ized YZ250's and they still MX'ed just like a regular YZ.  I even left the enduro tank on and just put less gas in it.

I think a KX250f would do pretty good and I'd start with the MX 250 rather than the 250x because you're still gonna have to get a bigger gas tank, guards, and mousse and I don't see that the x really offers anything.

On the subject of 18" vs 19", I ran the 150sx with 19" and mousse for 3 years and then got an 18" in a swap.  I can't really tell much difference.  It's only 1/2" of rubber on each side.

My 200SX w/YZ front end is PDS of course. It works surprisingly well on the track when compared to my '22 YZ250F and 300SX. And 200's are magic for off-road and gnar mtn trails.

Hmmm... I don't think we get the XC-F in the UK unfortunately

We don’t get them here in Sweden neither but a small amount of bikes manage to slip in to the country each year. Some of them to the KTM sponsored riders.

A riding buddy bought one last year after have ridden a 350exc before. I really liked the bike.

I am an ex motocross and enduro pro rider and always prefered a rebuilt motocross bike in the woods over a regular enduro bike.

I don’t know how much experience you have with a 350, but they run like a large 250 and not like a small 450, so even with the motocross engine they are nice and calm at the bottom end so they work good in the woods. And when you want the power just rev it and you got all the power you need.

I have a crf450 with the athena 400cc kit as a enduro bike now but i prefere the ktm 350 engine over mine. So i would go with a 350 or a 250 with a 300cc kit.

While my current bike is a ‘93 CR250R set up for woods riding…a favorite was my CRF450R (2011) with an 18” rear wheel, kickstand, handguards, skid plate and suspension setup for woods riding. It was compliant and easy to ride overall.

I can tell the difference in 1psi but can’t really tell a difference in a 18” vs 19” rear wheel. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm just here for everyone telling the Euro to buy bikes that aren't available in Europe.

The 18” get a more floaty feeling with the higher profile.

The easiest way to feel it is on a hard pack Mx track.

Another vote for a Yamaha YZ250fx.

KTM 300 XC has linkage. I love my '19 model.

Yep XC linkage, XCW no linkage

I think of it like the larger 18 gives a little more suspension to absorb root and rock hits.
