Multi year deal. You have to wonder what Star’s contracts look like. They have more riders than any team and cut guys from the team without blinking. We know Mitch runs a more bonus heavy contract. Makes me wonder if Star is doing something similar to be able to sign so many guys. They can use their track record to get guys to ride for next to nothing but bonus money.

Stoked for Anstie, maybe he can battle for the win at the wick.

So I guess multiyear deal means 2024 + 2025?
Awesome for him! Just sucks he couldn't start at round 1 outdoors.

He'll be good at Southwick. Last time he came off the couch on a 450 to go 5-5 there.

The remainder of 2024, plus 2025 and 2026.

with all the talent in the pipeline i'm just not seeing the attractiveness to signing him to more than a short term deal. kinda baffling really. i'm sure i'll get downvoted like crazy but star will be forced to clean house because of too much dead weight in year and he will be first cut i bet.

Name some guys that are the next big thing in amatuers that would be a better singing than an experienced max anstie.

I was just about to say the same. Sorry but the pipeline looks pretty weak the coming 3 years in America. The one exciting guy coming up is already signed to PC Kawasaki.

Anstie is a very good option if you want to have an experienced rider that should be able to contend for wins. Anstie is the second best rider on the team as of today.

why amatuers? they signed a guy thats in tomac/roczen age group to compete against deegan and hymas among the other handfuls that run the top 10 consistantly that are 10 years younger. yep  i'm baffled by this move. unless they are clearing out webb and tomac and max is gonna fill their shoes? c'mon

If there's a need to start unloading riders, Lopes, Romano & Robertson would all go before Max.

Tell me the current 250 riders that are better than Anstie, and will be better than him in 2025 and 2026.

Not many. And when we split the class in half, Anstie becomes a contender in 250 SX on a Star Yamaha. Star does not give a shit about his age if he can deliver wins and podiums.

Max has won a 250sx in 23 and 24.... not a whole lot of riders can sat that, especially ones ready to sign a new deal.

Plus, with his outdoor speed,  he's won mxdn and GPs, he can ride shotgun for Deegan.

I like Max. Even though he's old, he has had a sort of renaissance lately. I bet he's going to do well!

I remember Max stating on the podium "it was tough competing against the bigger teams."

Well here you go! You got your wish. Best of luck keep and the neckburns coming!

Oh damn. That's awesome for him. He's been wanting to get on that bike for years. So cool that he real shot at it. Hope he makes the best of it

theyre hiring him to win in 25 and/or 26. dont think they're trying to build him up to be the next big thing in 4 years from now or fill anybodys shoes

why does everyone get so concerned with age … that is more baffling than some of you think signing max is. He proved his worth the past two years by winning mains and leading the championship until a mechanical tanked that effort. If you are the team owner/manager name one person you think would be a better sign than max in the current field of available riders… i’ll wait!

And never once threw the team under the bus when he could have.

The Royal Ginger has to be loving that bike. Wonder if he has been doing motos before the announcement drop so he is a little prepped for 30+2
